With flagrant disregard for the feelings of the Texas Rangers, the San Diego Padres hit a grand slam for the fourth consecutive game tonight. First team in MLB history to do so.

Speaking as a Rangers fan, grand slams are cool and you should always try to hit a grand slam if you can. Even if it's against the terrible, terrible team that I like.

Greinke has done that a few times this season. Some people are trying to turn it into some thing where he's defending the Astros cheating thing that was going on before he was traded to them, but when asked about it his explanation has been basically he's tired of getting frustrated with getting on the same page as the catcher when changing signs or going through pitch options so he'd rather just call out what he's using at those times and move on quickly.
For what it’s worth, that eephus was a badly missed pitch out attempt on Greinke’s part (due to the aforementioned issues communicating with his catcher)
Following the cancellation of the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds game tonight, more teams are discussing the possibility of not playing, sources tell ESPN. Among those currently discussing it: the Seattle Mariners, who have the most Black players of any team in MLB.
The Cubs are, apparently, still going to play tonight, but Jason Heyward is going to sit out out of protest. Would have liked to see more from them, here.

word is that heyward encouraged the rest of the team to play, which...if that's what he wants, I guess. I want to hear some full voiced support from the rest of the team as soon as possible, though

This might mean nothing but it might mean something?
The 28-year-old starter on Wednesday stood up in an emotional meeting, explaining why he believed it was necessary for the Mariners not to play. Seattle's players decided unanimously to skip the game against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park in the wake of the weekend shooting by police of Jacob Blake, a Black man, in Wisconsin

The Seattle Mariners have traded right-hander Taijuan Walker to the Toronto Blue Jays, a source confirmed to ESPN.

yeah, for what it's worth I haven't seen any noise about how it might be related to his speaking out, and he's going to get plenty of playing time with the blue jays, either way

Yah people have been talking about Walker getting traded ever since he showed back up in the majors and didn't get completely shelled. He's #1 on this list.
tbh I'm surprised they haven't traded Marco Gonzalez already, but I guess he's actually good enough (and under a long contract) to justify trying to make him part of the rebuild.

Still made the out! What a gamer!
God the Rangers suck so bad nowadays.
But
Their last 4 games were against the same team...
Oh
Zack Greinke calling his own pitch and bringing the, uh, the...whatever the opposite of heat would be here.
genuinely surprised to hear a baseball team even discussing this
C'mon, Brewers - do the right thing here.

A nation turns it's lonely eyes to you.
Sippin' mai thais on a beach thinkin' about how everyone was mad at him for PEDs, but they learned. They learned.
A "good" commissioner is just one whose evil goes unnoticed, whether due to skill or luck.
so it wasn't rob manfred's idea, it was jeff wilpon's, and brodie van wagenen just threw wilpon all the way under the bus
And while Manfred wasn't responsible for this, the fact that it was conceivable that he did suggest it is probably not a good sign.

this is the second time the Cubs have thrown a no-hitter in Miller Park and...the first time they've done it against the Brewers
