I didn't even find that the combo was that important for the combat challenges, I just spammed gadgets.

I found finishers to be fairly important since they grant 300 points each.

For stealth challenges, using the web trap is GREAT for dealing with two guys that just won’t split up.

I find just knowing where everyone is and using L2 and R2 to move from point to point while using a the web strike takedown is the fastest way to Gold. I have all the stealth challenges at Gold. As long as you can get like one 5 or 6 combo you should hit gold.

I cannot for the life of me do well with bombs or drones. I have like one gold for drones. I did finish at least bronze for all the challenges but mehhhhh

I also haven’t Golded the 70,000 point combat one in the Park. I get so goddamn close. I’m like near perfect with it. But the most I’ve gotten is a little over 69,000 points.

The enemies that spawn later on behind the rock really f*cked me over because I couldn't reach them in time on my first two attempts...

This game is pretty good but I wish it had about 30% less stuff to do. I have a weird brain compulsion to stop for everything I see but also wish I didn't have to do it.

I understand that, but at the same time every collectible has something to offer besides raising an arbitrary count by 1:

    - Landmarks flesh out the setting's background
    - Every backpack gives you a glimpse into Spiderman's past and past adventures
    - The pidgeon's lead to a homeless man bonding with Peter over his tragic past
    - The science stations all offer small and (mostly) unique minigames
    - The Taskmaster stations and Sable outposts give you opportunities to truly test your skill with the game's mechanics
    - The Fisk hideouts, Demon warehouses and Prisoner camps mostly allow you to let loose and just beat up waves of bad guys (the side objecives can easily be taken care of within the first wave)

I much, much prefer this over, say, Assassin's Creed where you have a map cluttered with chests that give you an insignificant amount of currency, or "Animus fragments" that only raise an arbitrary counter by 1, maybe giving you some slightly stronger piece of equipment (that's useless because you can just counter-kill every enemy in the game within one hit).

Just my two cents. It also helps that unlike many other games, Spiderman gives you an incredibly fast and fun traversal system. No need for vehicles or fast travel stations. You ARE the vehicle and can fast travel at any time!

oh yeah it's all pretty fun I just think there's maybe a third too many of each one. They all are just long enough to wear out their welcome. Except the safe houses, those are fun.

edit: for me personally, obviously. I know I'm in the minority on this.

It's actually a surprisingly reasonable amount of stuff. I think I played for like 30hours and got 100% complete. I am not a completionist at all in games. When something has a bunch of collectibles I ignore them unless they offer something gameplay wise I particularly want.

But this game actually using the rewards for useful stuff, is just plain fun to dick around in and you end up burning through it all so quickly that it never felt bad(to me).

I mean, I'm 100%ed the whole Assassin's Creed series except for flags in AC1 and I never finished all the DLC in AC3 or Syndicate, but yeah. A lot of content. Spider-Man seems pretty reasonable in comparison.

    That was wicked fucking good!

I visited Ben and May's graves after the story concluded.

DAMN. Better writing than I had any reason to expect from an open-world action game.

I can't wait to play as Miles in the sequel!

Pretty crazy that Spidey's rogues gallery is so stacked that they could make the next game way bigger and have no overlap.

I really don't want miles warren anywhere near a Spider-man story after the 90s.

Hobgoblin is actually more likely than you think. I can very easily see them using the 90s cartoon version of Hobgoblin and have Norman become the Green Goblin after the Hobgoblin is caught and taken down.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

One thing that threw me off is that the challenge awards are cumulative. So a bronze gets 1, silver 3, and gold is 6.

Yeah it’s not bad, since it lets you only do the ones you enjoy, and pretty much ignore the ones you don’t

I had the hardest time with the drone challenges by far.

One thing that helps with the challenges, particularly the drone ones, is to watch a video. For a good number of them there are simple shortcuts that get you precious seconds.

Like for one of them you can dive straight for the finish when you see it, and that was the difference between a silver and a gold for me, I had though you needed to wait for the drone to get there.

For the combat ones, once you've got all your gadgets just never stop firing them. And remember the really big enemies can still be webbed up and tossed into a wall.

Yeah, the drone challenges are pretty much all about memorizing the path, but it's also why I specifically didn't want to just watch a youtube video

So, the bomb challenges finally clicked. I now have 11 gold and 5 silver and I think that's enough to purchase everything. I'm a completionist but, as much as I love the game, I don't think I want to spend time practicing (by which I mean repeatedly fail) the drone challenges over and over to Gold those. I'm done with challenges.

I've also 100%-ed every district except for two Thug Crimes. The only Crime-related challenge I have not completed is "stop the car without taking damage" challenge during the Thug Crimes Stolen Vehicle. It's terrible, and the Stolen Vehicle crime seems ultra rare, too. I was swinging around for like 45 minutes and only got it once. Everything was either Drug Bust, Mugging, Assault, or Kidnapping OVER and OVER and OVER.

I think I'm giving up and will just finish those two thug crimes so I can get the associated trophy, but can someone who beat the game confirm...
that once you finish the game the crimes pool reopens so that it's basically a free-for-all again and that it's going to be an excessively low chance for me to get the stolen vehicle crime to happen because active crimes are going to pull from Thug, Demon, Ryker, and Sable crimes again?

I'm so close to finishing and I just want to plow ahead this afternoon.

The best way to take a car without taking damage is to come up on the car at a corner. That way, you get the button prompt as soon as you see it.

Do the two bulletproof suit powers or the full damage blocking power work for this, or do you have to avoid being hit as well?

    Oh, really? OK thanks.

    edit: So basically:
I finished all the Sable, Demon, and Ryker missions and the associated challenges. Whether I finish these last two Thug missions before or after I finish the main game, I will never see the Sable, Demon, or Ryker crimes pop up again, I will only get Thug missions here on out, right?

Probably safer to do them in post-game anyway, assuming the game world is not as chaotic as it is right now, before the end.

Bulletproof did not work for me, though people on GameFAQs or Reddit (can't remember where I...read it. OMG I just realized what "Reddit" means while typing this). Anyway, I tried that once and it didn't work. I tried damage absorption but that didn't work either (but I actually never caught up to the car so I really have no idea if it actually works.)

I couldn't make this happen. Supposedly, the game needs to trigger the "chase" sequence, so even if you're 1m away, you won't get the triangle prompt until it speeds liks 50-60m away, forcing you to close in again. Which sucks.

I think the one that repels bullets (Mk.III suit I think) works. I tried it with the power on, but I also coincidentally caught up to the car lickidy quick and might not have gotten shot in the first place.

Also, if you're looking for a specific crime, I found it's better to just keep doing them rather than ignore them until the one you want pops. Whenever I did the latter, I kept getting repeats and never saw the one I wanted. But when I was doing them, I think the game actually tries to avoid repeats that way.

    Beat this last night.

I had been doing tons of side missions through my playthrough, but the 3rd Act ratchets up so well that I just blasted through the story.

    That ending!

Gonna go back and clean up the trophies, as they all see pretty doable.
