PbP Blood Rage - Chaos in the Old World meets Kemet
Blood for the Norse gods! Skulls for the throne of Odin!
The end of the world, Ragnarok, is coming, and the winner is the clan who goes out with the most amount of rocking! Gain glory for pillaging! Gain glory for winning battles! Gain glory simply for having dudes swallowed up in the fires of Ragnarok!
Blood Rage plays similar to past "dudes on a map" area control games. Think Chaos in the Old World meets Cthulhu Wars meets the upgrade purchasing system of Kemet.
The game lasts 3 rounds, or "ages". At the end of the 3rd age, the player with the most glory wins.
Each round:
1. Players draft cards to determine what they have available to play that age.
2. Players take one action in order, usually paying a "rage" cost to do so until everyone is out of rage. This works exactly like the power point system in Chaos in the Old World and Cthulhu Wars.
3. Everyone discards down to one card, which they may carry over into the next age.
4. Players check to see if they've fulfilled any quests they've played.
5. Ragnarok destroys a random space (which is known to everyone beforehand). Each player earns glory for each of their units killed this way.
6. Dead units are returned to everyone's reserve and available for the next age.
If no one else signs up by the end of today we can just go with you 4.
It looks incredibly easy to learn. You just draft cards according to what the text says, do the actions on your sheet, then try to score points by pillaging, winning battles, and dying to Ragnarok. Just learning the actions and how battles work (add up strength totals of figures, then everyone plays cards for bonus strength, highest total wins) and you've figured out 80% of the game.
Is there a chance we could have a picture of an empty player board posted in one of the first two posts? Just so we've got something easy to reference.

-Villages denote the number of free spaces for land units within a province. Once every village is full, no more units may be placed in that province. Yggdrasil has no limit.
-Fjords may hold one and only one ship (regardless of player color). They count as occupying both adjacent provinces at once and do not count toward the village limit.
-You cannot invade (place from your reserve onto the board) Yggdrasil. The march action is the only way to reach it (despite the mat saying march must go to an empty village).
-Ships cannot move once placed (only destroyed and placed again the next age after returning from Valhalla).
Playing a quest face down and pillaging count as an action but do not cost rage. You cannot perform any actions if you're at zero rage, even free ones.
Really? I've been reading the rules all wrong then, I thought you had to pay the cost and invade in the future for Monsters.
The giant invades for free anyway as it's a leader.
Yeah, I knew that part, I just thought because it was a monster, you had to play the upgrade card to "claim" it, and then you'd have to invade on a later turn.

Edit: guess I should specify city

(Looked around, and that sort of point spread appeared common for a first game of Scythe)
(Well that's a bit encouraging.)

I'll get the draft decks together.
I need to learn a bit about the game before picking
Uh, and pillage tokens.

Will be sending out new draft in a moment.
From now on, you'll use the same album for draft choices and another one for the cards in your hand. They will be updated as we go on.
(your cards are passed down to Austin, Lykouragh's are passed up to you)

All player mats are the same to start. We'll just use this one right now.

Where do you want to summon invade him? Whenever you play an upgrade to a unit type, or a new monster, you get to summon invade them for free.

Alright then, Invade Myrkvlor
