Also it was treated as more of a novelty/joke than a part of the canon
Oh well let's not go nuts I think it is pretty firmly canon that Chewie has a family who he hates very much and will do anything to avoid spending time with
Boba had a multiple episode arc too, and he was still the least interesting character in it.

It started off with him being interesting but the arc then went on to ignore the implications of "what's it like for Boba to live in a galaxy where there are millions of men with his father's face being used as cloned war slaves and millions of children with his face being raised to be the same?" in favor of a generic revenge-is-bad plot.
Ghostbusters discourse was the one that caught me so off-guard. I never knew the fanbase of that was so fucking loud until the remake.
i don't even think it was the fanbase
i think it was just your garden variety nerdlingers
yeah that felt like a bunch of fucking carpetbaggers to me
So it wasn’t all carpetbaggers. There was some pretty deep rifts formed in various Ghostbuster franchises at the time. I believe one split in half completely because of it. It took us by surprise.
I feel like that description can be applied to Han Solo just as easily. His big character development is revealing he's really not a heartless merc and joins the rebels and then... he's just Han.
The point I suppose is in SW, generally a character's vibe is who they are.
my favorite bounty hunter is that dude with the hat in the episode of clone wars that's just seven samurai

I have been partial to IG-88 and Bossk.

At least he's better than Dengar.
I think I read about it in an issue of Disney Adventures in the run-up to the phantom menace release
he hangs out with a jedi weeb droid that tricked itself into thinking it could use the force. dude has cardiovascular system, I'll give you that
in fact all the Empire bounty hunters got at least a couple good stories
except Bossk, an idiot who gets clowned on by everyone at every turn and trades largely on the reputation of his species
Like every other bounty hunter in that scene has a cool design, or at the very least a unique one
Whereas Bossk is just "what if a lizard was also a man" and... that's it
Hot take, Cad Bane is a better developed character than Boba "Daddy issues and looks" Fett.
Boba Fett had like 4 lines in the OT and a minor role, as a kid, in the prequels
Cad Bane was one of the bigger supporting cast members/antagonists in a show that lasted 7 (8 with the upcoming one, maybe? I don't remember) seasons
Of course he is more fleshed out and fully realized
also he's still just a competent mercenary with a cool outfit

My housemate was watching some Clone Wars last night, hat dude is rad
all other characters after it are lacking
except maybe space laura dern
This was some masterful conversation tai chi.
I refuse to believe there isn’t a shrine to interspecies space couple Ponda Baba and Cornelius Evazan in your closet.
the fuck did you just call me
i hope its entire family is rotting in hell
Well yeah. That's why it is what it is.
"I could become anything.
So I became AN AIR CONDITIONER"
A big fan of the best, most wantedest, law breakin’est cross-species duo galactic west of Tatooine, Baba and Evazan!
The biggest fan, maybe!
All Mandalorians are lame
I noticed it in the remastered version (which sadly is all I have) but I don’t know if that was a change made to match the prequels or not.

Don't worry, droids have souls but they're an affront to god, so they are definitely in hell.
