Relatedly, today marks the one-year anniversary of the last time my local team got to play a game at home. It's not even that we're playing away, we're based in an entirely different country, no access to our facilities and cut off from our logistics & support systems.
Our last home game came in the midst of a hot streak, 4 straight wins on the trot.
I think we've only recorded 4 wins in total in the year since.

It's not like good, but not like bones through skin or 'that doesn't bend that way' kind of thing. Just got knocked out. He is now conscious, and apparently remembers everything so probably okay long term, but concussions are weird and hard to predict.
He slid down on his knees as Salah came forward and one of his defenders caught him in the head with his knee running full tilt. Again not great, but not gore filled or anything. Basically took a muay thai knee to the head and was out cold.

i saw a lot of complaints about the late flag rule there (inc the Sky commentators) but realistically, there's like 2 seconds there between the pass and the collision
i can absolutely, 100% say that not one of Patricio, Salah or Coady is going to act differently there if the flag goes up
Chelsea continue to be impossible to score against but can't seem to score. I guess this is the new football, all about beating the high press and finding that tiny window of space and time in the face of said press.

The commentator was saying something about how it might be difficult for DZ without the manager there, i'd assumed he'd be sent to the stands, not to fuckin' prison.

i actually can't believe we had a match where Rangers had someone sent off for kicking someone in the face and yet the other team came out looking worse
ireland has a 5km travel restriction and a ban on fans in the stadium but that didn't stop this lad from travelling the length of the country to watch us lose 1-0 from outside the stadium
the league is taking the ban quite seriously as other sports didn't last year, were tied to a bunch of covid outbreaks and weren't given the go ahead to start back up this season
