Good video. I would very much like to see Pinball come back again in a big way but it's not likely to happen.
Ever been to the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas? If not, I really recommend going.
Edit: And while you are never going to see a massive resurgence, pinball is coming back from the decade long nadir it was in during the 00s, when the medium was dominated by one manufacturer - Stern - after Williams closed up their pinball division after the failure of their Pinball2000 platform.
(You can blame that on George Lucas.)
After the success of Jersey Jack's Wizard of Oz table (and if you get the chance to play it, do so - it is an amazing machine that blows its Stern contemporaries away), other small boutique pinball manufacturers popped up, and there's even a homebrew pinball scene, divided between building virtual tables using monitors and software like PinballFX, and building actual custom electromechanical tables (Ben Heckerdorn has a number of videos on this.)
Also I don't know if this phenomenon is truly universal but "Bar-cades" are getting very popular in my area at least. There's 2 places less than 5 miles away I can currently go plop down $5 and play unlimited pinball on a dozen machines with a third under construction as we speak, and probably half a dozen more locations if you expand to a 30 mile radius.
My wife was huge into pinball for years. She claims that the two best machines ever made are Addams Family and Twilight Zone.
And what two machines are sitting, side by side at the start of the pan across the featured machine collection
She would probably go nuts for the Pinball Circus prototype at the PHoF - it is a pinball table with a true tridimensional layout. They shelved it when market testing showed that it wouldn't bring in any additional revenue for its added cost.

Yeah, Traveler's character generation is...special.
this seems interesting
if I were in this situation today I'd be all for this ("golly you mean to tell me that one third of our party has already been really successful due entirely to random chance??? this has no precedent whatsoever in real life!!!"), but I could totally see being really frustrated with this ten years ago

You can have your character killed off in character creation if the dice hate you enough.

What are you expected to do at that point?
Just... not play?
Haunt the other players?
GNC, basically.
Again - Traveler's character generation is...special. It definitely comes from a different era of RPGs.

I played a short-lived Traveler campaign once!
Character generation was the most enjoyable part of the whole experience.
Now, that might sound like damning with faint praise, but I legitimately want to pick up the rulebook just for the character generation rules.
Did progressive ever end up decent? I watched the first few episodes and the animation look boring and the pacing really slow.
I thought it turned out really poorly. Some nice bits of animation here and there but a lot of cheap looking stuff too. FLCL isn't really known for making sense but even the exact themes they were aiming for seemed to be unclear to the writers from episode to episode. I'll still watch Alternative, mainly on the premise that it will be a third, also way different thing and not just more in the style of Progressive.

Marty O'Donnell occasionally posts old footage from his days composing for Bungie, and today he put up something really cool.
This is footage of him, Niles Rodgers, and Steve Vai doing the Halo 2 soundtrack, including the creation of the fan-favorite Mjolnir Mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUUa112HA78

Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

Okay but is this going to get a domestic release?
(It's kind of funny to have some of the "new" songs in the show be from albums that were released in the US by Geneon back in the day.)

Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time...

It felt like the first half of a full season, if that makes sense. I'm reserving final judgement until I've seen Alternative.

how much have you watched of it? I remember futurama started off pretty rough too.
The pilot, it was outright bad. If it weren’t for the pedigree I can’t imagine anyone giving it a shot.
I actually prefer the early seasons slower more serious tone.
fail gloriously

It is the perfect place for him and I'd love to see him on camera too, but even just adding his writing voice is a huge boon to the show.
