Still doing the 1-20 thing and I'm surprised at how fun survival hunter has been for just those few levels starting at 15
With harpoon resetting on kills its like playing a warrior that doesnt suck and reminds me of that melee pet class from the warhammer mmo
Marks is boring though
Marks is pretty great at endgame, with the ability to oneshot most enemies every other minute.
Yeah but Marks doesnt use pets (unless that changes at higher levels) which is a drag cause pets are the part I love the most
You can certainly use pets, in fact it may be more optimized to use pets than not to in raids as you get a heroism/time warp effect through them. Marks now toggles lone wolf by if you have the pet out or not. So you can switch at will. Put your pet away, get lone wolf. Call it out, lose lone wolf and gain other benefits.
I didn't take lone wolf even when it was the clearly strongest DPS choice in its talent tier because I liked having the option to bloodlust or battle rez people (rest in peace hunter pet battle rez), but yeah now it's baked in to the spec rather than a talent choice and is nerfed enough that it's an actual choice of whether you prefer having a pet or not.

Yeah I did notice that you still had the option, I mostly just assumed a flat 10% to everything was probably better than whatever one pet could bring to the table
I haven't actually looked at any high level hunter stuff though so I'm willing to believe I might be super wrong
Apparently lone wolf is a 10% damage buff while pets do about 9% of your total damage on a single target dummy, so in the current balance lone wolf is always better, and gets much better on cleave, since pets don't cleave but the lone wolf buff affects your cleave. But you lose out on bloodlust or a defensive cooldown. I guess you could summon your bloodlust pet, cast lust, and then dismiss them to get the lone wolf buff back? I'm gonna use pets in marks anyway.
e: oh wait the bonus from lone wolf accumulates gradually over 60 seconds after you dismiss your pet, probably to discourage that.
pick inscription/herbalism going into the expansion because you are going to want a shitload of inscription contracts (big rep boost consumables) to gear up your main. rep gear is gonna be hella good at launch
rep gear always looks great for about 3 weeks and then it's matched or outclassed by top end 5 man stuff and then blown away by the first raid tier
is BFA breaking that trend?

Exalted rep gear is equal to normal Uldir in item level, I think.
It'd be good to have, but since the raid won't be opening for 3-4 weeks from launch, you're going to hit exalted anyway by the time Uldir is open.
My biggest gripe is that the new googles just reuse the WoD models

Also, you can just buy gliders I guess?
I've always had the cloak tinker for that on and didn't realize that, so I might drop engineering and swap to something I can use to make money next expansion.
Also I need to learn how to properly auction house. I was tempted to do so this expansion for that spider mount, but the giant fancy dinosaur one this expansion has solidly convinced me.
5 Million Gold is one hell of a price tag for that.

You have gliders. You also have fucking rocket boots that are useful in almost every raid ever conceived by man.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

If you're willing to forgo a second DPS potion, sure.

With the new profession system I don't have to worry about skilling anything up before BFA right, I can just swap and jump in on Zandalari [Profession Here]
Hi, Sylvanas has always been evil, Blizzard never described her as being morally grey and this really isn't that big a stretch for her considering her past actions.
Also it's nothing like Garrosh, who had his character completely assassinated, throwing away all the character growth he had gone through.
Nobody is saying it's out of character for her. It is, but people signed up for one thing ("refugees and misfit trying to survive in a hostile world") and are suddenly the baddies committing war crimes. I'm perfectly fine with the Horde being evil again, but I also understand that a lot of people are uncomfortable playing the villains after being protagonists for years and years.
And Blizzard has been playing up moral ambiguity of the faction war forever, and this is just the latest in a storied history of faceplants. You can't just walk back an open act of aggression and actual war crime. Especially when we already had one just two expansions ago. From the same faction.
Also Garrosh didn't have any character assassination. It's a pretty solid progression of a very insecure person trying to live up to his father's legacy, and he attempts to do so by embracing racial supremacy.
People talking about making bank from professions when the fastest way to do that in legion was mining.
Specifically mining an exploit.
Like really if you want to make money just stay on the internet 24/7 so you can learn about the first profession exploit found, as soon as it happens, and then abuse the shit out of it for millions of gold. Easy.

Or, you can look at the time you spend per gold and realize your hourly rate is garbage and just buy a $20 wow token for 300 bajillion gold because you are an adult and might as well do that rather spend 700 hours of your life to get the same amount if you must absolutely have whatever trinket you need.

Spending 500 dollars for a mount sounds a lot dumber than not spending 500 dollars for a mount.
The real galaxy brain is quitting wow, learning how to do real archaeology, find a misquoto preserved in amber, use its DNA to bring back brontosaurii, then tame one as your personal vehicle

The real answer there is to not get the mount, then. None of it is worth the time or money if you aren't enjoying the grind (and grinding gold is rarely enjoyable)/

I didn’t realize they were removing all the wormhole generators, rocket belt, moll-e, and Jeeves
I pretty much require any character I want to actually play to also be an engineer
Making money from professions is a crutch just use garrison equivalents it’s easy
Wait, what?!

I don't want to hear about what's exciting from someone who just ground out pandaria archaeology, you're clearly demented

It looks like the xmogs we can make are available through pvp rewards anyway so grats on some new stupid goggles I guess.

Fuck that, my hands are rotted husks that cannot handle fine tasks like that.
Wait, what?!
Zay is being facetious to illustrate a point.
