Yeah but there's an upper limit on it. I just can't stay in a theater for three hours straight. Even when I'm binge-watching stuff at home my attention starts to wander after a couple hours.

My local theater is running a LOTR series marathon starting with The Hobbit and I think the whole fucker is like 17 hours and just oh my lord. I've done a, like, 8 hour marathon at a theater and I wanted to die, I can't imagine anyone sitting through all of the Hobbit shit.

I didn't get to see any of the Lord of the Rings movies in theaters, but I did see the first Hobbit, a movie I thought was totally fine, and was still sick of it when there were like 45 minutes on the clock

With Endgame I'm conflicted, because on the one hand this may be the last time I see some of these characters I've really grown to love and I want as much time as possible, but on the other hand 3 hours is a lot of hours

My body wasn’t thirty when I went in to watch Fellowship of the Rings 9 times in theaters.

    But it was afterwards

Here's a post I've definitely typed on here before: I think the MCU movies need to be shorter. I also think that Avengers: Endgame being three hours long is fine.

I'm fine with it being 3 hours, but I would have totally done the 6 movie theater marathon for the first Avengers, so I'm probably not the best judge for these things.

Every movie should be 5 hours and have a lower price of admission and concessions should be free.

Also if I, personally, have to go to the bathroom I should be able to pause the movie. But not anyone but me

Just pass out time stones; if you need to pause the movie, just pause time itself, that way nobody else gets upset.

I'm bored at work, so here is a question I have been waiting to explore in here with y'all.

The MCU is a PG-13 franchise of films. In our contemporary movie culture, PG-13 films are allowed one use of FUCK in their movie.

Where do you think their single FUCK would be best used in each of the MCU films?

The one that jumps into my mind is that I'd want Thor to use one against Odin before he gets banished in his first film.

    Something like:
Odin: You are a vain, greedy, cruel boy!
Thor: And you are an old man and a fucking fool!
Odin: Yes... I was a fool, to think you were ready.
    Loki: Father...
    Odin: [to Loki] FIE!

Letting Nick Fury finish his thought in the IW post-credits is a strong candidate.

Edit- also the Aunt May line in Homecoming. I know they were both cut off for effect, but I think as the singular F-bomb they'd have worked just as well.

Loki: "Please, brother, I got Matt fucking Damon to be me in this play!"

I'm going to do my best to do this movie by movie
Iron Man 1: Jeff Bridges yelling out a quick "fuck!" when his suit ices up
Iron Man 2: Garry Shandling tells Tony to go fuck himself at the end instead of just calling him a little prick
Thor: Jane yells out "The fuck?!" when they first hit Thor with the car
Captain America TFA: One of the SHIELD agents at the end when Cap busts through the wall of his room into their hallway
Avengers: Hawkeye tells Thor to "get the fuck in line" when Thor talks about wanting to fight Loki
Iron Man 3: I don't know the scene, but it's definitely Trevor who says "fuck" at some point
Captain America Winter Soldier: It's Nick Fury during the car chase, even if I don't know exactly when
Thor TDW: I don't know, let Malekith say fuck, that would be something
Guardians of the Galaxy: "You said it yourself, we're the Guardians of the fucking Galaxy", just upgrade the cursing
Avengers AoU: Again, I don't know the scene, but Let Ultron Say Fuck
Ant-Man: Maybe when Paul Rudd first shrinks, you just hear a comically tiny sounding "what the fuck", that would be a good gag
Captain America Civil War: Spider-Man yells "WHAT THE FUCK" when Ant-Man gets big
Doctor Strange: Doctor Strange throws in a fuck during his ultimatum to Dormammu, I don't now exactly where, probably just something like "That makes you my prisoner, fucker"
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2: One of the gold people declares "FUCK" when their drone spaceship gets destroyed
    Spider-Man Homecoming: This one's a gimme
Thor Ragnarok: I don't know the exact line, but Korg uses the word "fuck" when talking about his shitty step dad
Black Panther: Andy Serkis tells Bilbo to go fuck himself during the interrogation scene
Avengers Infinity War: Star-Lord tells Thanos to go fuck himself during the scene where he dooms all of existence
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Bill Foster tells Hank Pym to go fuck himself
Captain Marvel: Nick Fury yells out "ow, fuck" when he gets scratched by Goose

For Thor Ragnarok, I'd do this:
Hela: It's come to my attention that you don't know who I am. I am Hela. Odin's firstborn. Commander of the legions of Asgard. The rightful heir to the throne and the Goddess of Death. My father is dead. As are the princes. You're welcome. We were once the seat of absolute power in the cosmos. Our supremacy was unchallenged. Yet Odin stopped at nine realms. Our destiny is to rule over all others. And I am here to restore that power. Kneel before me and rise into the ranks of my great conquest.
Hogun: Whoever you were, whatever you've done, surrender now or we will show you no mercy.
Hela: Whoever I am? Did you not listen to a fucking word I said?

Hey nerds, there is a student at the high school just getting into Spider-Man.

I can't really recommend him anything because I've never been a big Spider-Man fan (cause he is obviously a public menace).

What are the five Spider-Man stories I just steer that kid into reading?

Nah, it'll be like this except the line will be "I can do this all d--"

Thanos will not allow him to finish.

What I'm saying is, go ahead and cry 10% more just to be safe.

    Shuri
Kinda makes Tony and Bruce less important characters which is totally fine going forward but I can imagine that two of the criteria for characters that get dusted was

    1. Well established and loved characters that will get a reaction out of people and will also have plenty of time in future movies to get their big moments
    2. People who would step on one of the core 6's toes.

    Shuri tags both boxes.
I’m not upset that Shuri got dusted.

I’m upset that it happened offscreen.
Like, the filmmakers didn’t think she was important enough to include a 4 second shot of it happening.

The only stories on Centi's list I also wouldn't recommend are New Ways to Die and The Gauntlet

And not because they are bad, they aren't, but because they aren't very new reader friendly

Big Time, Brand New Day and Spider-Island are all great and fairly newbie friendly
