more seriously i think the closest sartorial equivalent is probably something close to a james dean look but I dunno if there's anything as monolithic as sundresses seem to be for dudes.
Ok so this is just me, a very simple -one might even say dull- man, and absolutely from a super duper straight as hell perspective, but I think something about a nice summer dress accentuates the female form in a way that feels very artistic. When I'm out and about on a sunny day, blue sky overhead, and I see a lady in a brightly colored summer dress, maybe a breeze so the fabric is gently flowing around their body I think, "boy, this could be a painting."
I also don't see them much these days so when I do it's even more magical.
Edit: that said I also feel the same way about ladies in: jeans, yoga pants, overalls, oversized sweaters, those pants that unzip into shorts, a karate gi, ballistic vests, satin bodices, basketball shorts, a barrel with straps on it, and strategically placed leaves.

You just described, @Grey Ghost 's entire aesthetic.

hawaiian shirt and khaki shorts, aw yeah baby
You pair some socks and birkenstocks with that ensemble?
I exclaimed out loud at the 3rd image. That hashtag has some absolutely stunning, gorgeous fashion/portrait photography.

Yeah I'm loving going through these. So rad. The gold one especially for me, holy cow.

Fashion-related I don't know if anyone else has noticed but the reigning women's fashion trend this summer heading to fall appears to be "like a giant baby, or a really horrible doll you find in grandma's attic."
I am struggling.

One great advantage of lockdown is I haven’t seen any shop windows that aren’t boarded up in three months. So, nope, missed it!

Aight but y'all asked for this.
These are all ones I grabbed literally in the last fifteen minutes from two Korean fashion websites (10x10 and A*Land), Ssense, FarFetch, Financial Times' How to Spend It, The Birdcage (Australian) and Vogue UK.
Gingham, fluffy whites, poofed sleeves, frills, Barbie swimsuit-ass, Pippi Longstocking-ass, Haunted Doll You Found In the Basement-ass infantalizing buncha nothanks
Also motherfucking CROCS are back in fashion (A*Land has two separate ripoff brands and there's an article in Vogue) so just give up on everything, guys

I really keep coming back to the dresses that look like they're made from a mattress pad stripped off of a youth hostel bunk
But honestly genuinely someone explain to me in the year of everything's-a-disaster 2020 why women should be dressing like they're babies or dolls that need to be swaddled and cared for and packed in cotton batting? Is that really the message we're wanting to send? Somehow?
Some of it is okay and I'm not 100% anti-gingham or rouching or frills (there's a super bizarre pop-art babydoll teen fashion line called Rolarola in Korea that I'm into but also horrified by), but the degree to which I'm seeing high fashion outfits that are essentially the dress the ghost of Christmas Past wears in A Muppet Christmas Carol at worst and at best Kirsten from the American Girl doll catalog... it's grossing me out.

Most of these style lines will have been sent to factories last year, or January at the latest, and I bet the designers are now utterly kicking themselves for not steering into protest chic.
I am very much not qualified to comment on women's fashion beyond the most personal and simple 'oh yeah I think that looks cool / that looks like it's bad maybe?' so I'm glad people with actual fashion sense can confirm that those all seem very bad
Most lasses I know who don't have an aesthetic taste which is really influenced by a subculture tend to like dudes in a nice shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Pretty common. I dunno if it's like sundresses for guys (sigh....) but still
(The rest are goths. A goth selects a mate based on the chunkiness of his boots, the quality of black long-sleeved top he wears, and for the local cybergoth variety, the shininess of his custom rebreather)

I am cool and hip and do not make noises when I stand up I don't goddammit, I do not.
I would wear them more but they tend not to be bike-friendly.
Sundresses are pretty ok
So is there guy clothing that is generally considered to make a good portion of women go googly eyed?

edit: dunno really. A well-fitted tux is appreciated in certain circles.

It's such a thing that I've never quite understood

(to be clear this is not a real vogue cover it's part of a meme going round about reimagining Vogue with more black cover models but ANYWAY HOLY SHIT)
so I did end up getting these, for "only" 160 USD incl. shipping
thing is though, I'm usually a size 13 Wide US, which is about 46 european in shoe size
but maybe Cole Haan goes by UK shoe sizes for some reason, because even though they shipped from the states I am SWIMMING in these babies
is there any good way to shrink suede shoes, or do I have to take them to a... shoe-ist? cobbler? leather worker??

I wonder if that mattress dress comes in a memory foam option?
