[Vampire: The Masquerade] The Reckoning of Seattle Continues
The Tremere Pyramid was collapsed by the Inquisition killing their leaders.
I'm very curious about how this went down, because I imagine that the Tremere leaders probably have some very potent magic at their disposal. Unless they were distracted by political scheming.
I think they were killed via a missile strike to their "secure" meeting location. Aside from that there's not much information on how it went down, the area is considered off limits for the minute.
This compromised the whole blood bond thing the Tremere had going on and several individuals discontent with the Pyramid have taken the initiative to found new "houses" of Tremere independent of the main clan structure.
Ah, interesting. I was going to ask how the Tremere clan weakness interacts with this change, but then just looked it up on the White Wolf wiki instead. Seems like the weakness now is that they can't blood bond other vampires? Whenever I see stuff like that, I can't help but wonder: how often do weaknesses like that come up during play?
It always seemed like some of the clan weaknesses are so much more severe - or, at any rate, uneven - than others. The Nosferatu can't step out of the sewers without causing everyone in a ten mile radius to lose their shit. Ventrue, meanwhile, just like a certain kind of blood a lot. Granted, the latter can be a big issue if your character can only drink from Italians and oops, the GM says there are no Italians anywhere nearby, what a shame - but the Nosferatu clan weakness is always a big issue. It does seem (based on the WW wiki) that the V5 weaknesses have been generally brought up to par with each other, so that's good.

We discussed it earlier in the thread but its not really that hard to kill vampires. Its quite hard in a straight up fight. You bring some guys with guns and things will go poorly. But like.. bring some bulldozers and an alarm clock?
Various human governmental agencies cooperating together and allied with traditional Vampire hunters like the Society of St. Leopold.
Like in the US it's primarily a branch of the FBI that largely operated in an X-files style capacity until recently. The Nosferatu's parallel internet system, the Shrecknet, was compromised by the NSA which set off... some events.

That sounds awesome . Hopefully if this does well they might consider games from the hunters or wolves POV.

Specifically the catalyst was said to be 9/11. The Camarilla went all in to investigate it, and wound up getting exposed as a result. The Chantry in Vienna and Queen Anne in London(!) were brought down in the aftermath.
Considering that Schrecknet is probably as old AS the internet, I bet it was easy to compromise. Bet it ran on Usenet servers.

Ventrue is arguably the roughest one. Nosferatu have a discipline that nullifies their weakness and even if they didn’t, in the modern age people would merely think they were deformed or burned.
I guess my thought runs if they're bringing Science! to bear on "Who the fuck is actually human?" then the mages are probably fine but the Garou are gonna pop on some test or another.
Red Talons don’t give a shit if they’re members chow down on humans do they? (Not technically cannibalism after all).
Given that there’s one group of werewolves essentially trying to bring about the apocalypse by any means necessary (black spiral dancers) and another that just wants humans exterminated (red talons) I could see werewolves as a whole getting caught up in an anti-supernatural purge if the activites of certain groups comes to public notice.
The werewolves best defense is “oh we aren’t the bad werewolves, we are the good guys (with a tribe that wants to genocide humanity, another tribe that just wants to genocide Europeans, a tribe of white supremecists, and another tribe that basically keeps cosmic horrors locked up in their basements).
Human-borne werewolves of any tribe can try to eat humans if they're frenzied in a Wyrm Thrall. A lot of potential for some monstrous activity that gets attention from people.
I figured I might go Tremere when the game launched, but I am almost tempted to wait and see if they add Banu Haqim post launch. Since Blood Sorcery combined with Celerity or Obfuscate could be pretty fun. Though I suppose they could give them Celerity and Obfuscate together, but I would hope not.
Of course I haven't looked at what they're doing with Auspex too much for this game, so that may be cooler than the original.
I've used firearms on both my longer playthroughs (Tremere and Malkavian) and both had Auspex. It was just always kind of a boring power functionally. It does sound a bit more interesting in 2, but it will be hard to say how it is until we start getting more footage. I imagine Celerity or Obfuscate will be more amusing overall though.
Though I suppose a lot of this might depend on how cool the Thinblood powers are and how much you can upgrade things, as going like Blood Sorcerery and Telekinesis might take care of all your general spell caster needs.
I'm hoping the indication of weapon skins in the extras for one of the editions means we can keep weapons looking however we want while still upgrading to the stats we like.
Decided to listen to some of the clan reveal streams and check out the website for the game. Learned some interesting stuff, some of which I expected which is that the Thinblood powers all have utility for traversing the environment and solving puzzles (Mentalism lets you move debris blocking your way, Nebulation lets you pass through tight spaces as mist, and Chiropteran lets you glide for short distances). The other thing is it looks like they are trying to limit the amount of activated powers you have, as it looks like each discipline grants two actives. One at one dot, a second at three dots, with the second, fourth, and fifth dots upgrading the two abilities in some capacities. Though with Blood Sorcery you can activate Blood Purge on the same target twice in a row to activate Blood Boil once you have five dots.
Late to the party, but on the subject of V:TM and tattoos.
Quite excited about this game, it'll likely be the first I've preordered in quite some time. I'm still butthurt about the WoD MMO getting axed, but this is a nice consolation prize.
Didn't see this mentioned in the thread, so I'll just drop this here. It's nice we have two new games to look forward to- getting the first Bloodlines game to work is kind of a pain, but I'm looking forward to learning more and more about all this new stuff. I just hope it's in good hands...

I feel like no one cares about that Werewolf game anymore... the radio silence is worrisome.

So is this game called Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Too?
This talk about the 2nd crusade kinda makes me wish they made a Hunter game, but from what I can gather, they've only been doing nWoD splatbooks for them?

That's a good question. I like to think the Mages and Garou are laughing about it.
"Told you the Nosferatu would do them in."
They live out in the woods, though. I don't think they have to worry about the FBI busting in on their woodlands.
Tell that to the wolf at Ruby Ridge.
Either way do werewolves eat humans?

I've never managed to not run a firearms build. I want the enemy to be dead while over there, not over here.
