I searched for and found a Josuke folder in the bookstore the other day! It came in a duo pack with Jotaro so Moriveth asked to split the pack. He was hoping for Josuke but, damn it, he wasn’t going to get it when I had been the one to find it and pay for it.
It’s pretty cool having found a character we both like the best, even if it does mean being in competition with one another.

here is a very nice recent interview with Araki where he talks about Diamond is Unbreakable and says he would only visit America under 3 conditions
#1: he eats a lot of delicious food
#2: he goes to Comic Con
#3: he meets Benicio del Toro
Reminder: Araki is like 60 years old. Benicio del Toro is nearly a decade younger than him.
I'm gonna wager that when the day comes that Araki is killed by Hamon dies, he will either:
- wither into nothingness in the span of seconds
- shatter apart and the pieces crumble into dust instantly
- have a corpse that seems to never decay and almost seems alive, no matter how many years pass
Nope, just like Golden Experience’s ability to both reflect an injury upon its attacker and also to overload the senses (like it does to Bruno) are only shown that once!

My headcanon is that ge still has that ability but we never get to see it from the villain's perspective ever again. So imagine how every dude he mudas against feels.

Same.
Imagine Cioccalatta getting, like, extra fucked because of that.

Other authors would kill for Araki's ability to abandon ideas due to boredom/forgetting while having it be charming rather than frustrating
My favorite example of this is Jotaro telling Josuke that you can't bring people back from the dead.
Aside from the hilarious fact that Okuyasa literally does this later in the arc, and the next arc features zombie bruno, motherfucker, Jotaro you saw the ghost of your grandfather ascend to heaven and you brought him back by pumping Dioblood into his veins you can't say this kinda shit
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Joseph is the most egregious example of those three to me, too.
Okuyasu’s death I can handwave because: a) I’m biased because I didn’t want Josuke to lose his best bud! b) we don’t see his soul ascend (do we?) and c) I can tell myself that maybe his pulse was just really weak and Crazy Diamond’s healing took longer to take effect
Bruno: It’s definitely weird, but his body does gradually decay and I can buy that Giorno’s power was just enough to give him a few days’ grace
But the whole Joseph scene at the end of Stardust Crusaders did have me rolling my eyes
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

Whoa, you put Dio over DIO? You appreciate phantom blood way more than I do.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Yes, I did appreciate the simplicity of Phantom Blood!
I like Jonathan just living a quiet life until Dio comes along and wrecks his shit, and how at first he just wants to lay there and cry (there’s a particular page in the manga that really spoke to me) but he finds the resolve to get up and start kicking ass, and I find that inspiring
And I also appreciate how Dio just waltzes in and immediately announces his evil intentions, and how he climbs the ladder of his own ambition
DIO is like, already established as Top Evil, and I feel like he doesn’t do a tremendous amount

I like that DIO is immediately front and center from the start of the arc, the heroes are absolutely terrified of him, and he has personally fucked with some part of every protagonists’ life.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I appreciate that! In general I’m more a fan of the quieter/smaller-scale villains, hence Kira being top. Both he and human Dio make far less of an impact but are more realistic and therefore scarier to me.
The Pillar Men I found mentally exhausting in how hyper-powerful they were.
But really, there was nothing I really hated, which is what makes the rankings so fun to do!

On the other hand, telling Josuke "We could save your grandfather with vampire blood, but too bad we don't have any!" would also have been a dick move.

Point of order.
They did save Josuke’s father with vampire blood.

I think it would have turned him into a vampire, if anything. Joseph was like the only person the treatment could have worked on

It is a constant concern for young artists that meet him
Niko hates it. It embarrasses him. This delights me so much. I’m doing something right as a parent.
Haha that would make a pretty awesome shirt.

Bleh, meant "grandfather".

And then one arc later he stabs a snake he made to get healing blood and it doesn’t hurt him at all?
I don’t mind him not having the reflection thing, as it was kinda OP, but still.
