Ehhh I didn’t t like promare at all. I was hoping for a big dumb action movie, but it’s actually pretty boring. Most of its runtime is just long, droll exposition about its hamfisted politics. The very few action scenes in the movie are not worth the wait. I think the very first one is the only time there’s really even a real fight?
It occasionally breaks the fourth wall and loudly yells about how dumb the storytelling is, only to go right back to playing the world building and lore completely straight.
No character arcs.
The female part’s a little underwritten.
The audience saw some stuff that reminded them of gurren Lagann and they clapped.
Promare was ... probably one of the least engaging things I've sat through in a long time. Way too long, the action scenes aren't particularly good (save for the first one) every character is a broad archetype and the plot was nonsensical in a way that ... wasn't really funny and actually kind of annoying considering how damn long the thing is.
Also all of the CG stuff looked like Paw Patrol toys.

yeah the movie was only so-so but the soundtrack was pretty great (Hiroyuki Sawano did it, that makes sense then). I need to go find that rad ass music that played when lio was doing burnish shit

It's been an enjoyable read so far, but writing Raino out of the series was bullshit. Also I think the author forgot about the class rep character a long time ago (unless she returns in later chapters).
I really like Sound Only on theringer.com if anyone is looking for more EVA commentary. I feel like it's more in line with how I came away feeling about the show, while saying it better than I could, than the sort of frustration and anger described in the Waypoint watch.
Hmmm, watching the final 6 episodes of Evangelion for the first time, right before bedtime, wasn't a good idea. Just wrap up the cool weird robot show before sleeping, I thought.
