I have never been able to get good results from photoshop. I've seen lots of breathtaking sample images but instead of something awesome, I get a flat exposure that looks like the shittiest of all worlds. If someone knows some good freeware or a good step-by-step guide for the CS3 function I'd appreciate it.

None of those really do much for me Sheri. First I kinda dig, but the highlights are a bit burnt. Second would be nice if it had fewer primary elements to it, I don't know whether or not to focus on the pieces of the pier or the island.
So, I have absolutely no idea why, but someone wants to buy this shot from me. Personally, I think it's one of the worst photos I've ever taken but it probably has more flickr views than anything else I've ever done. This baffles me. Is there something I'm missing?

Long distance runner, what you standin' there for?
Here are some shots of the pride window display down at a local salon / tattoo shop. Uploaded- yet never shown. Not too happy with them (too noisey- i really should get that Ninja noise filter for photoshop someday soon)- but the display was amazing.
Apparently the band was quite famous; they had bodyguards lined up in front of the stage. The funny thing is, the moment they saw the fancy camera strapped around my neck, they let me pass to the very front, from where I could take some nice close-ups of the band members without being pushed around by people dancing.
Due to tricky lighting and my inexperience, most of them turned out shitty/mediocre, except maybe this one.
There was also a woman behind the stage who was selling the band's CDs and whatnot. I was up at the balcony when I noticed her dancing to the beat, lost in her own little world. I know she is underexposed, but that was mostly intentional; I think it added to the mood of the picture.

I don't know what that means, so I'll just assume that you meant to say that you apologize for being a brainless sap who doesn't have the common sense to edit his posts to add new photos, or not to quote a post full of images just to make a one-line comment.

EDIT: Gafoots, that Dahlia is excellent.
Well done for replying without the offensive comment

There is always a smartass out there?
I think my original comment still stands
Actually, your original comment would imply that you're trying to be a smart ass, and thus deserve the offensive comment form Sheri. Everyone in the photo thread is fairly cordial as long as you follow regular forum etiquette. This includes editing your posts instead of double or triple posting and not quoting an entire string of photos without editing out the photo links just so you can make a one line comment. Try to understand how that could annoy several people who view this thread on a regular basis.

The note has been taken and I am sorry. I am still new to this as I am to photography.

You can do it with photoshop but it takes forever and is a bit of a pain in the ass.
I suggest getting photomatix and letting it do the the really hard things for you.
Too bad I still suck.

I don't know, maybe it has some kind of tag that is getting searched a lot?
and Bread- that photo looks a little Corbis if you know what I mean. Maybe thats why someone wants to buy it?

And then, there is me.

Edit: And I can't figure out which of these two I like better

Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
Also, I dig the very first one (the pipe) you posted. I prefer it to the second one because it is from an unusual angle.

But this forum does not need comments like that.
Its just imature and I think she is above that.
From what I see in your posts you are very witless.
Fuck, looking back at your post history you post a lot of shit.
Well done.
You uh, didn't realize I was poking fun at you? Wow.
You can go ahead and ease up on the stalking there now anytime bud.
Janet
I did some more stalking and I am impressed with your photo collection.
I think your earlier photos were more inspirational, you have dropped off a bit.
Comments coming from an expert of course.
I think taking the "Piss" out of someone with Dyslexia is a bit out of order.
Watch what you say to people who are not as fortunate as yourself, because obvously you are so perfect?
Like you would even need to ask.
I think you do not know me very well, good sir. :P
Or this forum, but that's been established.
