Alternative remark, I assume this comic is a reference to Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 wherein Paul Blart (Jagganoth) punches an elderly housekeeper (Mammon) in the stomach
"Unlike Paul Blart, someday you'll die."

I was going to do a quip regarding K6BD but Hobnail hobnailed it for me.
Anyway, read all of Buttercup Festival.
Comic
ended in the middle of drastic events after author/artist and his wife lost their kid.
Vinnie
had nervous breakdown and committed suicide shortly after taking control of the kingdom when the woman he loved killed their ruler to save Vinnie from immediate disbanding.
Wow, being a werecat sucks in this universe. Then there's the unfortunate implications of this new side of yourself romancing people you wouldn't normally want to for almost the entire month.

And maybe presenting a different gender than yours while inhabiting your body to boot. But I would be far more upset about my effective, experienced lifetime being reduced by 96.66 percent.
Holy shit Gastrophobia has been updating for the first time in like a decade! But the site's security certificate is broken at the moment so my browser yells at me when I visit it! Oh no! Also the author came out as trans! Also the current storyline is about Gastro being trans!

Yeah the way that is presented means there is something happening in the margins that we aren’t privy to yet.

now maybe i missed something but arent walky and his sister half black?
That's the joke.
The joke is about their parents.
Mainly their mom who's kinda terrible. I put the word 'kinda' cause she actually had a moment where she looked like she was a good parent and that's when she got into an argument with Joyce's mom about the kidnapping.
Yeah I don't pay super close attention to DoA but their parents have Baggage about Blackness, there's been talk about how Walky is their favourite child because he looks less black than Sal

Weird how Billie seems to be embracing the satanic life but Maggie's still just... Maggie
Not that I think they have to have an equivalent progression or that Maggie ought to start "dressing more respectfully" and praising the almighty, but I'd like to have it actually addressed. Is Billie just more susceptible to the aesthetic or is satan truly in her heart? is Maggie not even paying attention to the whole god business or did it trickle down somehow and she just found a way to make it work with her vibe?

Maggie's patience with the entirely intolerable Mrs. Clovis suggests something of grace and forgiveness rubbing off on her, I guess.

Billie's conversion to satanism was less personal growth and more 'handle cursed object and make poor decisions,' so that might have something to do with it.
