*squad spends all its time killing spawn pods despite politely asking them not to*

*no one else brought good weapons for DPSing the hemocyte*

*host migration*

*finally beats mission 4 minutes slower than their average solo clear time*

*flips back to solo*

The issue, AFAIK, is that you want the spawn pods so that they spawn more enemies to advance the stage faster.

and killing the pods does not advance the mission objective as killing the enemies that explode out of them would?

Why would you kill the pod if you can get more enemies out of them by just leaving them alone?

Infested Spawn Pods don't just spawn one enemy. They can spawn multiple enemies over their lifespan if you let them. So it's better to leave them up and let them vomit enemy spawns out so that your squad can wipe a huge group after each hemocyte kill.

Also yes some rando on reddit says they don't count for progress, so there's that.
