Man, I just took a trip down memory lane. I went and read through my XCOM LP and saw that it ended when I went to live with my sister for 6 weeks in Virginia while she was having her first baby.
a few weeks later I moved to Taiwan. Really interesting period in my life.
Goldman first joined BioWare in 1998, and worked as an artist on everything from Baldur’s Gate to Jade Empire to the first few Dragon Age games. After a brief stint at Ensemble, where he worked on Halo Wars, in 2017 he took over as senior creative director on Dragon Age 4 after early work on the sequel was thrown out and the game’s direction rebooted.
Losing the people who came in a few years ago to restart the game after losing the people making the game doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence.

TIL that Task Manager lets you see how much your CPU/RAM/GPU is being utilised. I have literally only ever used task manager to shut down frozen programs before.
If loading a game uses 95% of my RAM that's probably not ideal is it?

If it's only on load, that is probably ok. Unless it's a game with a billion loading screens. If it's during gameplay, you may be bottlenecked. At 16gb RAM, games are more likely to be bottlenecking on the speed of the RAM than the amount of it though. And it depends on CPUs, I understand current gen AMD is quite sensitive to RAM speed and timings.
Most of this is in the +/- 10% FPS gain.
But if it's your favorite game choking, it could be worth an investment.
BTW on a windows machine you can press windows G and get a performance popup that gives the same stats. From which I just learned that EA launcher was somehow using 40% of my gaming GPU. WHY.
Atari (...) announced an up to US$3.5 Million strategic investment in Antstream Limited and a related option to purchase the assets of Mobygames, Limited, including the Mobygames website and database.
That site is still my go-to when I need to look up an old game's release date or dig up some screenshots.

- more Cataclysm vibes; we. will not. be bound.
- - failed to convince the worldmind to stick around. I don't think you can, like the other 'choices', but still.
- - they did mention Adam Warlock, but nobody's picked up on that yet
- paid the fine
- - didn't seem to do anything, but at least Peter is a good galactic citizen
- creepy dream
- - you're right, past Peter, why am I running from this thing?
- oh, joy, Drax has been converted. I figured it was coming.
- "hi guys!"
- - Mantis is the best. Her unstuck-in-time vibe is perfect, and I'm annoyed that I can't place the specific reference I have in mind.
The one that came to mind for me was the character in men in black 3, but I swear there must be another one I’m thinking of
Also that world mind decision, did you get “you managed to get the worldmind to consider your words” or something like that? Cos that’s the best option, and no you can’t get it to stay no matter what
Never got around Men in Black 3, so that can't be my thought. And, no, just the opposite; bungled the conversation.

Breaking: China suspends Tencent from updating existing apps or launching new apps -report https://t.co/q42nlP5SW0
China has suspended Tencent Holdings from updating its existing apps or launching any new apps as part of a “temporary administrative guidance” against the tech giant, Chinese media outlets including Shanghai-based https://t.co/UvdRdM7oGp, reported. 2/
According to the report, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has told app stores and platforms to implement the order against Tencent apps from Wednesday in a harsh administrative punishment against the tech giant. 3/
Tencent said that it is cooperating with the authorities on inspecting its apps, indirectly confirming the report.
There are more than 70 apps published by Tencent that are active and there are more than 100 games published by Tencent Mobile Games, according to Qimai. 4/
“We are continuously working to enhance user protection features within our apps, and also have regular cooperation with relevant government agencies to ensure regulatory compliance. Our apps remain functional and available for download,” Tencent said in its statement. 5/
Regulators coming down hard on everything. These rules are only on the mainland though, which could be one of the reasons Tencent is trying to acquire and invest in so many foreign companies.
It was pretty annoying to invest all your scarce upgrade points into a dude just to have him cut scene killed a minute later.
I don't disagree with that
But to me it's not so different from XCOM or similar
Or better, honestly, I'd rather lose a character to a choice I've actually made than to an enemy getting a lucky crit
ah see you're playing xcom the wrong way
the way a REAL gamer plays xcom is to
save scum constantly
Just keep reloading until you've removed every possible negative outcome from the game. Nobody is ever injured or killed, everyone always makes every shot, and you win every mission and your good guys beat their bad guys in a morally unanmbiguous fashion and the council tells you what a good boy you are and you're the hero you did it everyone loves you commander! We've unlocked even more cosmetic items for you to play dress up with your squad, your precious precious boys and girls. They're safe forever now.
You cheated not only the game, but yourself.
You didn't grow.
You didn't improve.
You took a shortcut and gained nothing.
You experienced a hollow victory.
Nothing was risked and nothing was gained.
It's sad that you don't know the difference.
Hollow victories are still victories, I'll take them where I can.

It's Cities Skylines. I only have 8GB of RAM and on loading Skylines it's using 7.6GB. Goes down to 4-5 during play. I get a lot of crashes and I don't know if it's a memory issue. Has definitely got worse with every new DLC I've got and apparently each of the DLCs add like half a gig of RAM demand.
I'm trying to save up for an almost whole system upgrade but it's so much damn money. I could drop £50 on 16GB of RAM now, but it'll be DDR3 and I will need DDR4 when I build the new computer, so if it's not going to help the problem it'll be a total waste of money.

Edit: oh yeah that was chiasaur not fishman's.

Depends on how much 16GB of DDR3 costs, really (unless you have the mobo slots for additional and you can buy more of the RAM you already have, in which case you only need 8GB more). And how soon you plan on building a new PC.
Over the years I've decided that there is no such thing as future-proofing a PC, not unless you've the money to upgrade every couple of years, so if it's not much of an investment, throw some money at your current rig to make it last longer.

Thank you for making #DarkSouls the Ultimate Game of All Time at the #GoldenJoystickAwards. We are truly humbled!
As the fire fades and we look back on a decade of memories, we are tasking you with one final quest in anticipation of the release of @ELDENRING. https://t.co/47knsW8ane

Ah yes, Gabe Newell, inventor of the PC
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I ended up making the final fight of Banner Saga 2 completely unwinable by previous choices I'd made. BUT it also accounts for that fight being lost and continues on from it narratively in interesting ways. I had a hard time with the choices at first but eventually settled into it as an end of the world story and managing to save anything is a victory.
Who won for Most Dangerous Game, was it just Man again
Close, it was Manticore
Robbed again.

these awards are kinda weird
Dark Souls 1's back half removes in from any list.
It makes sense because while cars like them, people love them.
Disappointed that Gary Newman couldn't make it to the ceremony
D3 Steam #TeamTangent STO
Or, like, Tetris.
Close, it was Manticore
It is kinda a good performance though
Wait, the mocap actress/english va or did people literally just vote Lady Dimetrescu?
Robbed again.
Nah.
Lawn darts.
Well, she did have to wear that big floppy mocap hat.
Though if this is for best performance of all time, then Labyrinth of Refrain and Tales of Berseria should be above most other titles.
