i finally took my pc apart, dusted everything out (wasn't actually all that dusty bc my case is good) and re-applied some thermal paste to the cooling stuff and it now works just fine
Ah geez now AoE4 and The Forgotten City are on gamepass too. I've finished four games on my list, gamepass! How is my list now longer than when I started a month ago!?

My latest Surviving Mars game I decided to try a map with maximum hazards, which previously I've tried to avoid. You actually can't get a map that has all of them at 4 so I think I've got 1 for dust devils, 3 for meteors, and 4 for dust storms and cold waves. It's made things more interesting. I've never encountered a cold wave before and I like the design of how it frosts everything over, it even sounds cold. I feel sorry for my little drone buddies though because they keep running out of battery in the cold.

I might be a bit card gamed out right now, but are they any impressions on Voice of Cards?
I feel like I may only be interested because of the music.
My core two observations from the demo and/or reviews of the full game:
- The card conceit serves only as an aesthetic; mechanically, the game is a bog-standard JRPG.
- There is some cute incidental writing, but otherwise the plot is similar fairly rote JRPG fare.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.

I was hoping considering the game's pedigree, there'd be more going on there (story wise at least). That's unfortunate.
So I've been gradually playing through all the itch games from that big racial justice bundle, and lately I've been playing through Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor. And man, this game is weird, but in a good way! But also kind of a bad way? It has a really cool aesthetic and visual design, fun music, and it sets up a good gameplay loop - you're a janitor who gets cursed, and you have to do your daily job while gradually figuring out what to do about it. But playing the game can take a while to really get the hang of, and it constantly feels like you're just on the verge of failing. It explains very little, making you discover things - but that works better when I'm not trying to find a way to actually buy some food I can afford that won't make me vomit all over the place, while avoiding the paramilitary goons who keep stealing all your cash. It can be pretty frustrating!
The big thing though, is just getting lost. The game includes no real map, and there are some landmarks you can start to recognize. But I didn't realize until I saw this map someone made, why I was having so much trouble navigating: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=768298776
The arrows mean that it wraps, so essentially each corner of the square just loops around itself. I'm not entirely sure what it means topologically, but my god if you don't know it's happening, it can confuse the ever loving shit out of you.
Anyway, I'm still playing through it, I want to see where it goes. I just had to talk about it, and see if anyone else has played it, and if they know what the hell is up with container guy. I've given him like 50 containers and I'm not sure if it's a prank the developers are pulling on me.

Mothmen 1966 is a 'Pixel Pulp' - a visual novel featuring a fusion of exceptional writing and stunning illustration, inspired by mid-20th century pulp fiction and 80s home computer graphics - set amongst the strange occurrences of the Leonid meteor shower of 1966.

if you'd like to avoid getting invaded, you can either not turn human or just disconnect your system from the internet, though both preclude summoning non-NPC allies too
If you die to an invader, there's a decent window before you can get invaded again. So if you want to summon for a boss, don't worry too much about invaders. Worst case they kill you once and then you use that window to get to the boss unmolested.
Do like bots invade or something? Cos I swear it’s the same guy in the same place every time. I couldn’t be arsed to turn off my internet so I’ll have to look into not turning human. Also I just run back to the bonfire and wait for him to kill me, but this time he’s not coming, and I can’t manually quit using rhe games menu, Can I just switch the game off?

There is an extremely specific spot or spots where bots invade and I can’t remember where.

Just throwing this out there.
I first read that as Syphilis, which I guess is also accurate.
All 2D games are now flat-'em-ups.
I'm reminded of the artist who gave the Australian Olympic Committee exactly what they asked for (athlete fursonas)
Although I’m probably going to replay GotG on hard to try out the other choices in game
You mean it's not a kiss-em-up?
I have never felt so betrayed at the highest levels.
