I'm gonna die in a weird fucked up hard to reach place and be the body that some post apocalyptic adventurer finds and all I've got on me is some shit loot like a coffee cup or a spoon
I want my corpse flung over the walls of the compounds the rich build as they flee climate collapse
I'd rather someone feed me through a wood chipper first. A corpse is easy to get rid of, but at least I can make a real fucking mess for them.
I didn't say in one piece you know

My biggest challenge with death is making sure I've scribbled down all the oblique clues that, when put together, will let you find my greatest treasure: $287 and an audio recording revealing a key, heretofore unknown plot point.
God I would love for an otherwise serious game to have an entire series of hidden audio logs from a scientist or soldier or whatever that's something just completely deranged.
Like them ranking which 90s cartoon characters they'd most like to fuck and why.
When the base of an entire political party has been fed lies about how anything functions it's no surprise. Any media that tries to point out how the high inflation is worldwide or how a president can't influence gas prices is screamed down as fake news.
I mean I hate higher prices while record profits are talked about in the same breath, but like ain't shit anyone can do about it they already aren't. The companies are literally making money on us blaming the wrong people.
I literally brought it up in passing conversation that the oil companies were using the Ukraine war as an excuse to raise prices and my father told me to stop bringing up politics
Like, pointing out a fundamental aspect of reality is fuckin political to some people. And by some people, I mean conservatives.
So his reality is that Biden is intentionally and personally raising prices just to trigger the cons?
"Simple, real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time." -Mustrum Ridcully in Terry Pratchett's Hogfather p. 142 (HarperPrism 1996)
I wish I had the confidence of middle aged white guys who speak absolute bullshit with such conviction.
If I have to hear "electric cars are worse for the environment because they get charged using power from big dirty coal power stations" I'll scream.
Please get an opinion that hasn't come from the Daily Mail.

My complaint today is that the predominant style in men's dress shirts seems to have become these ultra fitted, v-shaped things that I'm sure look great if you have that build but even when I was a varsity athlete with a 32" waist I was shaped like a fridge, and that's only gotten more true as I've hit my 30's and my shoulders have really filled out.

My dress shirts I got at dxl and my issue with them is the upper arms are way too big and billow around my underarms like a tent but most dress shirts don't fit my neck or chest.

Male fashion sucks. Shirts are mono color most of the time, and boring. I imagine if you want to look like someone who isn't a drone you have to special order.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Yeah, a lot of the dude fashion youtubers go on and on about getting a tailor for your clothing, because off-the-rack doesn't fit perfectly for a majority of people.
All of those pie charts about GHGs by sector that aren't defining the military as a contributing sector tell a pretty bias story. It makes it look like "transport" at 16% could be mostly civilian use. Which, lol, lmao, it's not.

This goes into more detail and specifically breaks down to Livestock & Manture at 5.8%, Road Transport at 11.9%. We'd have to from that take as a given that road transport carbon comes from >50% trucks, which I would be uncomfortable assuming given the ratio of cars:trucks on the road (a quick google suggests there are ~2 million semi trucks registered in the US, compared to 284 million cars).
It's a combination of deforestation for grazing land and methane production.

If we're going to count deforestation for grazing land for cows, we also need to count the carbon from the ships and trucks shipping cars to and from dealerships as well as the carbon produced by the plants that manufacture cars and the enormous amount of electricity they consume. If we want to be really thorough, we probably need to also consider the deforestation and removal of plant life that occurs as part of building highways and parking lots.
Which, I'm fine with an accounting looking at the sum of a thing instead of just one component, but we need to apply that to cars and cows, not just cows.

I disagree! I feel like that would be akin to adding in the carbon footprint of transporting meat, which I am not doing. The deforestation for grazing land is part and parcel to cow farming in a direct way that I don’t particularly find compelling to include shipping with in the same way.

I mean, you're entitled to your opinion. Just, the data don't support it, is all.

We seem to be disagreeing on which data to use.
You haven't provided any. You were given two sources, both of which disagree with your assertion, and your rebuttal was "what we if we include deforestation for cows and don't include anything else for cars," which is a thought experiment, not data.
This has gone on already longer than it's productive for. Again, you're entitled to your opinion. Just don't be surprised when people refute your opinion since the available data disagree with it.

Cattle-rearing generates more global warming greenhouse gases, as measured in CO2 equivalent, than transportation, and smarter production methods, including improved animal diets to reduce enteric fermentation and consequent methane emissions, are urgently needed, according to a new United Nations report released today.
There are a lot of articles and things like this, I have skimmed them because I am not invested enough in a casual conversation to do a deep dive.
Shit, the very first thing you linked is about US usage which is not what I was saying. At all. If you wanna move the goalposts to this just being about the US, then yes, your data is relevant. The second study has a lot of data points, but I am not seeing some of the particulars expounded on. Deforestation, manure, and cattle/livestock are included but separate terms. I cannot parse from that data exactly the comparable carbon footprint of raising livestock to cars (I use livestock here because it’s what that second link used).
EDIT: Not gonna lie, eclipse, I found your sudden tone shift in the casual conversation to be rather insulting. I didn't provide data because we were having a casual conversation about a non-sequitor of my time in rehab that I posted in my bed on my ipad.

I hate how people ask a political question, get a political answer and then go "no politics man" ok but like if you asked why Texas has a bad power grid it isn't like an act of god or something.

I worked outside in the sunshine all day. On the way home I stopped and bought some gin with the plan to get home, have a shower, and have a G&T sitting by the pond in the sun. Had my shower and now it's pissing with rain. I can't drink a G&T indoors that's just weird.
I'd love to get chosen for jury duty, but then I also work for state which still pays me my standard wage for time doing jury duty instead of the stipend

I have a jury duty summons.
For tomorrow at 9 am.
Lol
I got summoned for Tuesday.
I won't actually know if I need to go in until the night before.
Sadness
I blame the moon for all of this.
I originally got the summons like 6 months ago, tried to get excused, and they said "OK sure you're postponed until June"
Good luck, those can last forever
God speed I guess
