Fair enough. My feelings are hurt, and I promise my revenge will be neither swift nor entertaining.

Also, I need to learn to not be over defending myself. That looks bad regardless of what side I'm on

He made the tie by moving to the wagon

    I'm... sorry? we won?

This was pointed at the below, and it's fine; that was meant to be flippant.
Not quite sure Actually this is referring to Heffling getting cursed over the two mafia

Frankly I dropped the ball that day, as I missed vote close the day I thought the Mafia only needed to cause massive shenanigans to win.

But yeah, seeing you move the vote and then seeing you check out threw me for a loop.

Really surprised nobody figured out the curse mechanic. Very simple: Mafia curse one person on night zero, that person is cursed so that whoever they vote for (provided they aren't already dead or mafia) would die to a curse. So hats off to Discrider for riding the line between village and mafia. Curiously, this came up on the previous night, as there was a 3 way tie for second place. Well, the last person to vote someone in second place was Discrider, a villager, so the village got punished.

So, I got plagued in the first vote, and knew I was a vanillager.

And on the day when I was going to die, I had three options for whom to plague:

Mamawolf reached out to me and talked about how we'd worked together well on our last game and should work together, which I was suspicious about, because, well, in the last game she was the Vig and I betrayed her because I was the Mafia Boss. So, you know, that wasn't what I'd call a rosy working relationship. So I should probably plague Mamawolf. But I was, somewhat understandably, a bit of a jerk to her in the last game and I didn't want to be the person who's just always a jerk to one of the players, so I should probably not plague Mamawolf.

But in our discussion on who to plague, she made a really good point that MrPaku had tied up a vote while protesting that he was doing that just to get things to happen, which was pretty suspicious to me. And, hey, working with Mamawolf last game had been fun and keeping these as a long-running metagame might be a little too extra, so you know, whatever. So I should probably plague MrPaku for his bad voting habits. But, as he said, there was a lot of voting left to do, and the chances of his vote actually causing a tie and harming the side of the angels was pretty small. So, I should probably not plague MrPaku.

But on the gripping hand, Auralynx immediately started the "Vote Elvenshae" bandwagon, and I had promised to use my limited power in the most venal way possible, so plainly I had to plague Auralynx. The excuse that it was just a welcome aboard vote could have been genuine, though, which would mean it was just all in good fun. So, I should probably not plague Auralynx.

With time running out and not a lot of information to go off of, and (at least reasonable) reasons to go after each target, I rolled a d3. And it came up MrPaku. So my plague went there.

But. The main reason I picked MrPaku was at Mamawolf's urging, and she was still sus, so my plan was, after the votes had gone in, to announce to the thread my target, why I chose them, and, especially, who had indicated I should do so. That would, I thought, neatly cover the bases.

But then. I came home from Cub Scouts to find a police cruiser in my driveway, because my home alarm had gone off because someone ... or something! ... had tried to force open the basement door. The cop thought it was the wind, but we have had some burglaries in the neighborhood, so I had to sweep my house to make sure it was safe for the kids to come in. And by doing so I missed the post-vote, pre-results window. Oops?

Anyway, a good time was had by all. Good job, villagers!

The trick is you have to write a long narration before vote close. That's when shenanigans happens so you get to throw it away and start over.

I was SURE the mafia was going to know I was the seer after the aura call. Praise be to Gizzy for taking that hit for me.

Also it was kinda the mafias fault that I seered mama. With most of the people H3K reached out to being dead, I figured let’s check the rest (mama and Austin) to see how secure things are.

Much thanks to the hosts for running! This is only my second time as seer I’m pretty sure and the first time surviving the whole game.

Aura gave it away that someone H3 talked to had told them when they immediate said they were going to target them with the plague after the seer call.

This was perhaps a bit harsh @m!ttens , and I apologise.

I really never network unless there's some mechanical reason to do so, like proper factions or being seen.
I should network or just reach out to people more.

So having you reach out of the blue was unexpected

But looks like you were trying to get me to kill more people anyway, and then I may have made you think Mamawolf was seen before it was announced in thread through poor wording.

Thought maybe you were the seer sounding me out at the time, which is why I didn't mention it for a couple of days.

Your added layer of deception all talking about Elden Ring chargen over in chat was what sealed it.

As mafias I've been in go, this one felt small and kind of weak, but honestly there's not a lot you can do to save things after someone gets seered immediately and there's a wacky wagon early that leaves a trail to follow.

Still - well done to the village, here.

No, if you had been seered then it would have explained the mechanic to the seer, and if you died you would show up as a normal villager who had been cursed.

It's mostly just me a little salty that I've done two phallas now and other than one nice "welcome aboard" post last game from H3Knuckles I've had to do all reaching out to others. I guess I just thought there were l would be more communication.

    I mean

You could always host a game :P

I was pretty surprised how little communication happened in group chats in the games I've hosted.

I think the factions-that-don't-mean-anything did a good job at spawning communication out of nothing this game though.
Even if I didn't do much in my faction chat.

Also with the Curse and ties.
I had thought maybe the Curse was an anti-tie death.
But that didn't make a lot of sense, and I didn't have enough data with only two deaths, and it assumed there was some sort of vote manipulation in play.

And the Curse disappeared so I stopped worrying about it.
The Curse seemed pretty village to be though...

I also misread what would happen in the event of ties and thought that, in the event of a tie, the faction-that-didn't-matter would be punished, not the mafia/village.
Was very tempted to force a tie to try and catch mafia Heffling out, and then I guess I did that by accident anyway.

I've kinda grown to not PM a bunch of people until day 2-3 or so, as I die a lot early and thus it's wasted social effort which is haarrrrrd. Then it also depends a bit on how much I'm able to think hard about the game...

And in the previous game I was mafia and worried about blowing my cover from lack of practice :D

Hmm maybe it’s more due to the types of games - these smaller 15-20 person games vs the 40 players ones from back in the day. Smaller games tend to lean more vanilla mechanics-wise.
