Omg farg you can't just directly tell people about the quick launcher 3rd party launcher replacement that handles downloads much more robustly and you definitely can't just link to it like this for some reason https://github.com/goatcorp/FFXIVQuickLauncher
Yeaaaaaahhhh, the conclusion of the quest being “let’s commercialize our religious iconography” and this being treated as a GOOD thing is…. Hm. Not awesome
What happens to FC rooms if the FC in question goes away or otherwise explodes? I put a ton of effort and cash into the Perfect Room but suddenly realized I'm in kind of a shaky FC run by flakey people and am a little worried.

Pretty sure it gets wrecked and you lose all the stuff.

If it's in a private room it'll get sent to the caretaker NPC.
If I keep all the stuff that's fine I guess. I was just putting the finishing touches last night and sitting in the FC discord hearing people scream at each other while I laugh nervously in the back Ralph Wigguming it up.
All the items will be sent to an NPC for recovery, but you do have to have the space in your bags to actually take your stuff back. All the stuff from my demolished house is still sitting in that poor NPC's inventory cuz I ain't got no room.

If you install the famously illegal alternate launcher you can get a plugin called MakePlace that lets you save and load furniture layouts.

Perhaps you get lucky and the FC falls apart and you end up with the house? All it takes is being the last one left.
My wife and I are the proud owners of an FC house in lavender beds cuz we're the only ones in the FC.

If I was playing on PC I'd get these cool illegal mods. Unfortunately I'm stuck on PS5 getting my face stomped into the dirt by jack booted Sony thugs.

As a PC player I will need to investigate these third party launchers TO MAKE SURE I NEVER ACCIDENTALLY USE THEM because while this patch only failed twice id surely miss the hours I spend babysitting the official AND BEST launcher that crashed 40+ times on the major content updates.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
oh god did it really
I had forgot but now that you mention it yeah I did all my bozja farming for the FF12 hoverbike during the long lull between expansions
A FF11 style grindzone should probably be thrown in at the end of every expansion just to give people something to do without being able to burn through it quite as fast.
One of my favorite Yoshida trolls was when he was doing an interview for XVI in the runup to the game's release, where the interviewer asked about plans for a XIV x XVI crossover. To which Yoshida responded with "you'll have to ask the XIV director about that."
You could see where the interviewer's brain sort of...broke in response.
Yeah, the last Tataru delivery questline is pretty ridiculous. At first I figured it would just be the fantasy trope of "running a business, but in this fantasy universe there's no late stage capitalism", but the actual reasoning just doesn't make a lot of sense.
Friendly local village sells trinkets to people of their faith and that's somehow a steady revenue stream? There's magical thinking and there's this kind of hand-wavy "nyehh, we need to stop coming back to this village because we're ending this expac"
So we're in the part of Endwalker where we get sent
back to the First, and it's such a breath of fresh air. Things are a typical shitshow in Eorzia and we roll in like hey everybody guess what, really need to talk to the fuckin ascian because ALL the worlds are about to end and we don't know why.....
Everybody: hey, awesome to see you! A few things:
- don't even stress, we're just going to keep kicking ass over here regardless so, like, eyes on the prize. We got this world on lock.
- Please tell the Exarch to hydrate and take naps and shit, we know how this goes and we all love him.
I just love it so much. They're out here rebuilding, writing histories, working to make things better as a team...
Meanwhile, in goddamn fucking Sharlayan
Bureaucrat: haha lmao sure we're going to put all the people on the moon and escape. Totally our plan the whole time. Us first tho
anyone: but what if we want to try and save our home?
Bureaucrat: lol enjoy your hell rock sucker
...
Vritra: I'm pretty sure we're on the last functional rock in the universe
Bureaucrat: whatever bro, our forum knows way more stuff than timeless fuckin space dragons. We're gone, see you never!

There's a reason that one of Louisoux's most notable quotes is "to ignore the plight of those we can save is not wisdom, but indolence." It's also pointed out that for all their being at odds, the one thing Louisoux and Matoya agreed on was the uselessness of the Forum.

So apparently, with a little luck, you can solo the older treasure dungeons on war. Some of the mob packs I couldn't manage, but after about a month of attempts, this morning I cleared The Shifting Oubliettes of Lyhe Ghiah.
Honestly, treasure maps are better solo. I may not make it far solo, but the loot is always mine. Been selling the glams from the rare crafting materials and making millions.
Course, I also made over a million gil this week by just buying all the golden saucer fashion report target items off the marketboard and relisting them for 3x the price...oh, no, i have become the capitalism.
Different this time though, still rewards you for doing certain dungeons/trials/raids but they've added weekly stuff for extra tomes.
Looks like multiple phases too.
I'm not sure what this "multiple phases" thing means? It seems like they're trying to make a wider variety of ways to earn the irregular tomestones, but does this mean the rewards are going to change/cycle, too?
I ask because there are only a couple of items I actually want to grind for on that list, and I'd prefer not to resub sooner than necessary.

There will be two mogtome events.
But the First one (this one) is running through March 11th?

what's it like being a second-class citizen?
Anyway here's my cool room. There's an upstairs area as well with a TV, bed and some snacks, so basically it's my dream home.
hot damn where is your house at? I can visit if it's on either NA or EU, it looks dope as hell.
*edit* if anyone has an EU character and you like uhhh things like that you should visit my Island Sanctuary, see pictures here: https://capriccio-ffxiv.tumblr.com/post/737897095101562880/finally-finished-the-little-secret
It's in the Goblet 5th ward, house 47 on Ultros.
