I'm amazed that South Park still manages to be as funny, if not moreso, than some of the earlier seasons. It has its ups and downs, but overall it's the most consistent of any animated comedy show outside of maybe Futurama. Of course, there aren't that many episodes per season.
Still looking forward to it.
Some of the episodes are pretty forgettable... But there's a handful of pure gold every season. It's amazing that they've kept it up this long.
They aren't afraid to change things up drastically. THey turned Mr Garrison into a flaming gay then into Mrs Garrison then into a flaming gay. Killed Kenny off for a while and brought Butters up the rank. Went from having 4 cast at all times to sometimes focusing solely on one, two or three, replacing the main cast altogether, killing off any cast they don't have any use for like the bus driver, instead of keeping them lingering on like a bad stain forever and ever, like Homer's current dick persona. They're also not afraid to touch on things others don't and while sometimes they can go too far, at least its never as hamfisted and irrelevant as the Simpsons has become.
Most importantly, they have celebs on and don't credit them properly or advertise it. THey just are there in relatively minor roles because they can be. Instead of revolving an entire episode around the latest flavour of the month, see the episode where Bart suddenly was a devoted rap fan.
Yep, South Park is mega and is troo, has become better as it has aged. Similarly, the Simpsons really has been a pile of shit from the brilliant days of seasons 4-8 or thereabouts. It said a lot about it's current quality as a bastion of scathing social satire (cough) that the best joke in the movie was 'Spiderpig'. By comparison, SP:BLU is still literally the best thing ever.
It always amuses me when journalists not much older than me cite the Simpsons as an example of brilliant US satire, the funniest cartoon ever, or [insert meme], in a blatent attempt to be hip with the yoof, without realising that in fact the Simpsons hasn't been funny for years, and most everyone actually prefers SP.
Another fantastic one I saw recently was where Cartman's mom meets a dog trainer and they make him into a good person, until Ms. Cartman is left to her own devices.

I loved the episode where Cartman discovers that if you shove food up your ass, you will shit out your mouth, and it becomes a new diet fad. The scene where the parents are all sitting around the living room talking with shit coming out of their mouths was perhaps the best thing ever.
Bono aiding impoverished Africans by singing at them was a good one.

I loved the end of "Stan's Cup".
The Redwings just kick the shit out of the pee-wee hockey kids. And then cancer kids dies.
It awesome in a twisted way.

You see, that ski run was once a burial ground to a tribe of vampire witchikah Indians who ate the flesh of children with no eyes… Yap, lot of history on that ski run.

Yeah but they're so yellow and recognizable and the good episodes were good enough to ensure that those distinctive shapes move happy meals and limited edition 360's. They'll never lose their rep, because they're like Mickey Mouse, or the Star Wars brand.
Considering how popular this show is, I'm always surprised at how few easily quotable lines it has, at least in comparison to the Simpsons.
It has a reasonable amount of quotable lines...it's just that many of them are not appropriate to quote in public >_>
Cartman, of course, usually gets the best ones.
<broken record>One of his best "safe" lines is the great "stealth" line "How do you like your chili, Scott?"</broken record> -- Totally meaningless and innocuous to anyone who does not watch the show, and downright unnerving (in a wonderful way) to anyone who does.

I don't know, South Park is fairly quotable I think. I find myself saying "mmm kay" and "im super cereal!" and "i think she's got a snuke in her sniz" a lot.

I think Cartman has a lot of quotable lines. Problem is they're not as funny without that voice.

Seriously, back about 7 years, I said that thing all the time. The cop episode was so funny, seeing little Eric on his bike like a real cop.
"Clocked you doing 40 back n'yah, you know what the speed limit is n'yah?"
"Well according to that sign over there, its 40 miles an hour"
"Sir, step out of hte car"
"Hey aren't you Stan's little friend?"
"Sir, step out of the car"
"Yeah you're the kid who always blocks up the toilet in our house"
"Maybe this will teach you to listen to AUTHOROTA!"

The one where his mom tries to drown him in the car is awesome.

The dog whisperer episode was, indeed, awesome.
The WoW episode is oft-quoted around my apartment. "How can you kill...that which has no life?"
It awesome in a twisted way.
