I see you're here for some deep, probing questions.
What has always stumped you, in-game or extraneously? I'm not talking lame answers like "how does he carry all that stuff" or "where do all the guards come from, we're in Siberia, I mean come on".
I mean such unsolved enigmas such as:
- Why does Ragnarok Online generate such awesome quality fan-art (and
so much hentai)?
- How come nobody's made a god-hand esque game for the Wii yet where you synch the controllers to your fists (triggers could be grab, and much of the rest is physics and collision mechanics)?
- Why does Final Fantasy
insist on crystals? The official line is that will
always be crystals? Why?
- Sniper rifles. Why are they the best thing ever?
- How come big-budget titles that excel in so many areas still have unacceptably poor voice acting (eg. AC; Crysis)?
We may not find our answers, but by damn, we'll try.

Anywho, gaming wise, I am befuddled by mods. Some games get awesome mods and are amazing. Some games, that really could use mods... get none. I mean come on. No Mapping tools is not a legitimate excuse god dammit!
On the serious side... or trying to, same idea with DLC. Some 360 or PS3 games could really benefit from DLC but... companies almost like refuse to put some out for certain games. Or, if they do, they release one small thing and call it a day. (Looking at you Bioshock...)

First, I forget why but it had something to do with Project Dread.
Second, LucasArts is about as guarded about their old titles and IP's as Square, if I'm not mistaken. In other words they will eventually but will release them in totally arbitrary compilations across multiple platforms while completely avoiding digital distribution for no rational (or audible, for that matter) reason.

Because VA almost never has much budget and is done late in the cycle, so either bad voice actors are used or decent voice actors only have one take.
What I hate most is when they use a "hollywood star" in the voice cast, who doesn't necessarily know how to do voice acting. A professional voice actor can add so much more character. Hey games industry - just get Billy West to do everything.

Yeah this is the major problem with most AAA voice acting. They just scan their list of favorite actors and pay them 10$ to sit in a booth and say a few lines with out caring. Or if they do get a famous dude who is a good voice actor sometimes the directors don't want to tell someone famous that they are doing a line wrong and just go with it.
Basically actors should stay on the screen and voice actors should stay in the booth.

While your on the topic of anime I think a better question is how you can stretch a basic three hour movie plotline into a six year television show.
Same way they can take a 50 episode series and condense it down to a 90 minute movie. Just backwards.

Are you referring to Naruto? I was actually pretty into the show until I realized I was like 70 episodes in and they had basically taken a walk to some town, beat up some dudes, walked back, and started to compete in some tournament with a whopping three trials. Jesus fucking christ, The Sopranos is a faster show.

I do wish more games would take a realistic approach on sniper rifles. Guns in general, really. Which reminds me, there was this one article about a year or so ago that went in depth on realistic weaponry/movement in FPS's. Wish I still had the link somewhere...
