This movie was the epitome of short and sweet. It was perfect and not bloated or dragged on or did nothing like that.
It's a movie you won't forget, because it's just so...unique. It has that funny-but-almost-sad vibe to it, none of the characters are relatable or even entirely human, and the whole thing is really an experience. I really enjoyed it as an experiment in comedy.

I fucking saw this a few weeks ago and it was goddamned amazing.
Everyone in the movie was just fantastic. Normally I can't stand John Malkovitch, but he was just fucking phenomenal in it. The story revolving around the Gym manager was just so goddamned sad though.
The ending totally takes the cake though, with the abrupt cut away that leads into the office discussion. Wonderful.

I'm afraid to click that spoiler. I'm not sure I want to know. I'll just keep trying to fuck everything. -- trentsteel
You guys know what is fucking retarded. A local theatre decided to stop showing Burn after reading. I asked why but they said that it was just empty every showing.... -_-
Meanwhile they had that Beverly Hills Chuwahua movie starting every 30min...
I just saw it yesterday. I'm kind of surprised that everyone is calling it so funny. I mean, it had a lot of funny parts, especially any part with Brad Pitt, but overall it was sort of sad to me.
Still, very good, and I need to get around to seeing it again before it leaves theaters.

It wasn't particularly sad because as others said, the characters are completely absurd and unrelateable. They serve only as instruments to deliver this movie's message and story.
What I took away from it was the feeling of relativity and misunderstanding. Something that may mean the world to one person can be utterly insignificant to another. As long as there is no clear communication each person will operate in their own set of relative importance and remain ignorant to everything else.
I also laughed my fucking ass off at the movie. Especially
the pink dildo bobbing up and down while Clooney is trying to destroy the chair

The characters were definitely absurd, but for me the absurdity mostly came from how unbelievably self-absorbed the three main characters are. They all think that the world revolves around them and them alone, and because of that they get tangled up into this huge mess that ruins their lives and creates a lot of problems for innocent bystanders, like the gym manager. By the end,
the only one who gets what they want is Linda, but what she wants is superficial, and she sacrificed two people that legitimately cared for her in order to get it.

Hm, maybe it was just me, but nobody felt 3-dimensional, except for maybe Malkovich's character
It's not a bad thing, it turns the characters into objects that propel the completely insignificant plot forward
I left the movie thinking pretty hard about what it was I had just witnessed
yeah, this exactly
i don't know how the fuck they did it but the coens made a silly comedy with unbelievable characters that still has a lot of depth to it.
i really think it's a better movie than The Big Lebowski.

more normal than the manager guy? or the CIA director?
I'm talking more about the main characters in the film.
Sorry, I just saw this two days ago. Malkovich was aces in this film.

let's hope it at least does okay in dvds, because this film deserves praise.

i was giggling for five minutes straight
I liked
"Did you get the money?"
"He hit me!"
I don't know, something about his expression and the way he seems like a little kid running to his mommy is just so perfect.

Don't think anyone'll get that till the dvd comes out, but yeah that was hillarious.
Yeah, me too. He just had such utter disdain for his lack of knowledge in his voice.
