So Shadowcat and Vision are hard if not impossible to hit. Blink is great but I don't know how she will beat people who aren't solid or Flash who is essentially invisible.
Tough one, I really want to see Blink and Shadowcat advance since I know them better then Vision and Flash... but I dunno. Meditate on this I shall.
It was switched to Jay because the other Flashes with the speed force are retardedly overpowered.
Is there a DC contender that hasn't been gimped yet?
Is there a negative comment about a DC character you won't react personally to?
Point to a single Marvel choice you guys have altered to make the fights more "fair". I'll be waiting over in that other thread. You know, the one with the ungimped DC contender.

Other than, I dunno, Captain Marvel, Marvel doesn't do the alternate version thing. DC has half a dozen Flashes and a couple thousand Green Lanterns. If there was a version of Quicksilver who moved at lightspeed I'd want him switched out too.

You know, I'm actually going to give you a concrete answer to this one: Hulk.

I CHANGE MY SPIDEY NOMINATION TO COSMIC UNIVERSE SPIDEY I WIN
taking a look at the avaliable terrain choices makes this round of fighting very straight foreward. No more "(character) is in the city and can stealth kill (whoever).
Are there civilians still present?
Edit: Well I guess the forest could be a stealthy area, monster island has monsters? I assume so, if so can the monsters eat some of the characters?
on the marvel characters not getting gimped: I nominated Dr. Strange and he was removed due to his awesome power.
[spoiler:6857fc9570]I guess you could just shoot him with hitler's gun, though.[/spoiler:6857fc9570]
Yeah, there are tons of creative ways to take down even the most powerful dudes. Unfortunately, things like this always devolve into a popularity contest.
Well, Jay can only even hit Blink, and then only if she doesn't see him coming- which, given this terrain, is certainly possible. But I don't see how he can overcome two other fighters who he can't even come into contact with. So Blink gets snuck up on by either Jay or Kitty, who's a ninja, and taken out, and Jay is ineffectual for a bit before being removed by either other opponent. Vision, knowing that the Baxter building has all kinds of awesome stuff in it, and with a better strategic mind than the other three, lets Kitty do the dirty work of taking out the other two and goes and finds or builds a device to zap a phased Shadowcat. Vision and Kitty move on.
It was switched to Jay because the other Flashes with the speed force are retardedly overpowered.
Is there a DC contender that hasn't been gimped yet?
Let's see
Superman
Wonder Woman
Batman, despite being OBVIOUSLY outclassed
Green Lantern
Impulse(who only lost due to inexperience)

I'll be over at the other fight in a second.
See, here is why I see DC characters being "gimped" more plausible:
DC is Gods among men. Larger than life figures living amongst normal humans.
Marvel is more the "Joe Sixpack as a superhero". Guys like Spider-man and Luke Cage who, if not for outside circumstances, would just be average people. Hence, Spidey and Luke fit better than Superman and Wonder Woman.
Question; do two intangible people pass through each other, or are they solid only to each other?
In any case, I have to go with Jay as the winner. Too fast for anyone in this fight to really have a chance at hitting him, and Vision and Kitty can't stay phased all the time. Sooner or later they have to throw a punch or something, and as soon as they do The Flash seriously messes them up.
I am undecided as to who would take second. Feel free to try and sway me.
If Blink can fill up someone who is intangible with sand then she has a big advantage here. She would probably team up with Kitty due to being familiar with one another, Flash and Vision probably would do the same. Blink takes out Vision with 3 tons of sand and Flash cant hit Kitty. Kitty and Blink advance...and seal their victory with a kiss :winky:
Why could Vision not just remain intangible? I had no idea Blink and Kitty knew each other.

Terrain is a big disadvantage to Flash, he's out.
Vision is a robit and Shadowcat disrupts robits, so it's a matter of her getting near the guy, which is going to be hard with the terrain.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Can she fly? I really have no idea. Vision can fly.
She can enable herself to walk on air... which... is not the same thing, honestly. However, if Kitty and Blink team up, the moment Vision becomes tangible (assuming he will) Blink can just teleport kitty right into him... bye bye vision. As far as the Flash goes, that's gonna be a tough one... however, Blink can also just teleport a car or wall right into his path, assuming she can ascertain what that path is (of course, in the comics and cartoon the Flash always leaves a long red trail when he runs, so it might be easy to see where he's going)

Easy to see where he has been. The trail is behind him, which with someone like a Flash (yes, even Jay) pretty much means shit.
Yeah, it means shit if he could stop and turn on a dime. But I doubt even the flash can do that...

who the hell nominated Jay Garrick of all people?
I'd say yes.
Vision is so going down to Shadowcat. Blink can port fast enough to get Flash. So Blink and Shadowcat for me.
It was switched to Jay because the other Flashes with the speed force are retardedly overpowered.

Oh, for the love of god, shut up.
Oh look, the sun came up. How shocking!

Hulk
Edit: <shakes fist at Geebs>
Mostly nobody's gimping Marvel because nobody nominated Sentry, Black Bolt, excetera.
Oh yeah, there's the Hulk.

well impulse is inexperienced and easily distracted to the point where he could beat himself on accident
He still ended up getting voted out because of the speed force. A voter's disqualification, if you like.

While Blink can't really teleport intangible people away, she can fill them up with some three tons of sand. She did it with Hyperion.
Jay, however, is just too fast to hit. He moves at mach speed, and unless he stays very far away, he's going to be effectively invisible.
In any case, I have to go with Jay as the winner. Too fast for anyone in this fight to really have a chance at hitting him, and Vision and Kitty can't stay phased all the time. Sooner or later they have to throw a punch or something, and as soon as they do The Flash seriously messes them up.

Wouldn't the sand not really touch them, seeing as they're intangible and all?
Don't ask me, ask whoever wrote that issue where Blink ruined Hyperion's shit by doing exactly that.
My guess is that the intagibility allowed her to actually put the sand inside of their bodies rather than between their atoms or some such.
The other thing I want is for Terrorbyte to leave this boards and go back to GameFAQS or Newsarama or whatever moron pit he crawled out of.
Vision is a robit and Shadowcat disrupts robits, so it's a matter of her getting near the guy, which is going to be hard with the terrain.
I would think one of the last things Shadowcat would worry about would be terrain.
Her wiki page says that her powers give her the ability to "walk on air" so basically flight.
