Honestly I didn't like the single player of this game at all. I enjoyed COD4 100% more. Having said that, the multiplayer is really good.

I know this is just your opinion and an opinion can never be wrong, but I have no idea how you could substantiate it. I finished the SP campaign today and on the whole found it really awesome. In some respects I find it superior to the CoD 4 campaign, and the only place I find it inferior is the absence of that sweet opening scene rendered with the in-game technology that CoD 4 has.

So please, tell all the people who might be on the fence about purchasing WaW (and who hope it has a good single player campaign) why they shouldn't and why they would be better off playing CoD 4 again because it's 100% better.

p.s. If it's not obvious, I'm calling you out for reeking of Fanboy.

I am enjoying this much more than I was toohuman, dark sector and farcry 2. it is good that they laid down their lives so that I could get this for less than £10. Also it seems there are now actual reasons to prestige (extra classes)

I'm starting to gain the mindset that levelling is far harder in this than it was 4. Maybe it's that my play style isn't that varied.

I don't know about that. I got up to level 13 faster than I did in CoD4.

The whole game feels a bit weird, though, and I have trouble doing as well as I did in CoD4 and it's kind of disappointing. Not the game, that's well put together, but that I haven't adapted as well as I would like. For some reason, the weapon variety also seems less pronounced this time. There's a lot of guns, but I haven't found a compelling reason to use any one over the others within a weapon category.

overall I think its an improvement on cod4 simply because it retains most of the good things about 4, but adds newer parts that 4 was missing, like good shotguns, match search preferences, reasons for prestiging, etc. I'm not saying that 4 is bad in any way, just that this is better because it improves upon four.

I don't know if I'd really call it an improvement. Certainly, there are things that WaW does better than 4 (dogs trump helicopters), but then they go and add tanks to the mix and make some maps way too big (I think I saw 3 people on that map with the covered bridge).

I thought the dogs were terrible in the beta, and I didn't like the levels' design as much as COD4's.

I greatly prefer the dogs to the helicopter. They aren't useless on predominantly indoor maps and you have a better chance of defending yourself from them without a large coordinated effort from your whole team.

You're not the only one that dislike the tanks.

My problem with the tanks is the fact that they respawn after a period of time, which is stupid. I would be fine with the tanks if they didn't respawn. If it's destroyed, it shouldn't respawn. At least that way it would be a bit more realistic.

Level 21 here, with four players. Making it to 11 with two people isn't half bad. With a good team that just "clicks," and some ray guns from the random box, it's possible to hold out quite a while.

There's no limit to the number of rounds, but to put things in perspective, when you get past Level 20, the zombies can pretty much eat a full helping of lead and tear your head off while you reload. So when you stop getting ray gun ammo resupplies, you die.

Finally got to play some multi last night. Played just enough to unlock the rest of the Core playlists. It's not bad but it will take some getting used to.

I'm not a fan of the tanks. If they were going to put those in, they should have required two players to control. One driving and one on the main gun. I'm not going to complain about the machine gunner since that is suicide for anyone trying to run that. The other problem with having those tanks is that it requires the maps to be far too large.

The maps feel "off" to me, too. Maybe it is that there are no "sides". The map designs are either too asymmetrical or too large to create natural choke points. Of course the absolutely horrendous spawning does not help with this feeling. It seems like both teams are either jumping around the map at random (because of your wandering teammates) or you spawn alone within range of at least three enemies. The former making it really easy to camp the other team but it also means that at times the entire enemy team has spawned right behind you or on the complete other side of the map. It gets really frustrating at times.

I spawned behind someone last night and I was holding a shotgun. It was, admittedly, a little satisfying.

Now I know what the other team feels like every single time I fucking spawn. Satisfied.

I feel pretty left out not having had these spawning issues.

I've not run into anything worse than the old CoD4 spawn two feet away from an enemy, but it's completely okay because you're around the corner oops you're dead problem. As for the constantly shifting sides and teams spawning back and forth across the map in weird ways, wasn't it exactly the same in CoD4? I seem to remember that happening a lot.

Yeah, but in COD4 if they started spawning on the other side of the map it was because your team had managed to rout them from their camp spot/pushed to far into their territory. Here, it seems like half the team just pops to some random location around the map.

By the way, does COD5 have the same problem that COD4 had, where the enemies would just endlessly spawn, if you didn't move on? I soooo hated that on Veteran.

Oh and how's the zombie mode? I'm totally buying this after my testweek because of the story co-op and zombie mode.

Yes. It has the perpetually spawning goon squads. Admittedly, there seem to be fewer, but they're still there.

So I beat the first mission on Veteran... yeah, this is going to suck.

The first checkpoint I hit, I die a bit later on. I respawn and there's a guy about 15 feet in front of me who has martyrdom. He drops a nade but I'm too far away to grab and toss, but there's absolutely no cover behind me (at least, not close enough to get too before I die). So fastforward about 8 or 9 attempts in, I finally say fuck it and just 100 meter dash my ass right past him (and the rest of his "shoot only me with perfect aim" allies around into some huts)... I then cat and mouse for 15 minutes trying to get some forward motion going and finally get past it :| Yay purple heart achievement I guess. I'm such a masochist.

Unlocked the Bouncy Betty mines tonight. Holy shit, they're awesome. They stay on the map for a pretty long time,. so if you put them in an obscure place instead of a high-traffic area, you still get random kills now and then. I've also had them save my ass when enemy dogs were bearing down on me.
