    Bull shit.

Or you play some really simple PC games.

With PC games you are using left and right mouse, and the wheel, wasd, probably e and r, cryl, maybe shift and alt and x and maybe 1 2 3 and 4.

To be fair, the mousewheel simplifies a lot of weapon selection, eliminating the need for at least 1 or 2 buttons.

Still, though, I usually end up using quite a few more of the buttons around WASD than just the jump button.

The mousewheel does not simplify weapon selection. You need to know where each and every weapon is located in your inventory so with a click of a button you can switch to flak cannon, to pulse rifle, to shock rifle, to rocket launcher, to impact hammer, to. . .

We did once. The controls were not so great.

I did try Perfect Dark on a larf a few years ago, having never really gotten into GoldenEye. I found it remarkably well designed, although a little hard to figure out in places.

We did once. The controls were not so great.

Most games, especially early FPS titles, don't age well because we become used to the modern conventions. Hell, my friend and worked at the mouse controls of Duke3D just so we could replicate modern mouselook that wasn't really configurable in-game.

Try playing Wolfenstein 3D or Doom. It's a little jarring.

I like the N64 controller, but the PS2 really perfected button layout. Since then, they just added wireless.

Even Microsoft opted for that design over the original XBOX controller.

When I got my Saturn I got like... 9? controllers with it. The only one I don't have is the big arcade stick. I've tried them all. I gotta say, I don't really understand all the love the Japanese slim got at the time; I thought the old SNES dogbones were much more comfortable and responsive.

I use 3 weapons, the Sniper Rifle, for long engagements, and frankly often for mid-range ones too because I headshot like a whore in UT, or at least I used to. The Rocket Launcher, when you need to pulverize someone in the middle ranges, and the Flak Cannon, which is really for any situation in which flak or a flak grenade could possibly kill someone. If you want that "Flak Monkey" hotness, you gotta make that shit work.
