Nope, doesn't appear to be either. It's a DS game called Blood of Bahamut, but I can't tell from the screens what kind of game it is. I'm assuming action rpg of some sort.

We're past that speculation now. Read the OP. It's a new IP.

Looks pretty, I wouldn't say it looks at all like SotC though. Still, it looks much better than I thought it was going to be from the early details.

I like the looks of this.

But I happened to look at some of the comments on Kotaku...that was a bad idea. Apparently this game would be much better on the 360/PS3, based on the 30 second trailer. Also Nintendo is steering the game industry backwards.

    I fucking hate Kotaku.

    I fucking hate Kotaku,

It's hard not to feel that way sometimes though. SE is a huge developer, and yeah, at any given time, I'd rather have my epic RPGs on a console with the power to make them look and sound amazing.

SE is already making or has made several huge RPGs for the HD systems (well, mostly the 360). It's not as if 'they' are being neglected at all.

Yeah, but they seem to be wasting their more unique ideas (this looks fairly unique, and so was TWEWY) on the DS (or the PSP...what the fuck is Dissidia doing there?) when they'd likely be way more awesome on a console.

Granted, SE games are pretty much the only thing that I use my DS for these days, so more games isn't a bad thing.

But seriously, Dissidia needs to be a console game so I'll have actual people to play it with.

TWEWY was made for the DS. You really can't do that game on any other system.

Dissidia: Who said it had a VS mode?

Given that it's a fighting game, I just assumed it had one. I mean, the single player parts of a fighting game are typically awful, and Dissidia hasn't shown anything that suggests otherwise.

You could definitely do TWEWY on a console, although the controls would be different. I suppose TWEWY is less of an issue because it actually makes use of what the DS brings to the table (the touch elements), whereas most of their DS stuff has just been portable games that would've been just as awesome, if not more awesome, on a console (I know I sure as hell would've loved full-featured remakes of FF3/4 on a modern console)

We're going to be rebuying FF1-6 until the end of time, aren't we?
I have an unhealthy love of FF4 DS.

Here's the question, then: Are we more likely to see FF7 on DS or on a Sony console?

I prefer Squinx to experiment on the DS and pump out derivative games I don't feel the need to buy on the HD consoles, myself.
    Maybe that's just me.

Speaking of which, Nanashi No Gamu still needs an English release.

On a newer Console (not necessarily Sony)

The S-gen series of Final Fantasy likely wont ever see DS remakes, as thats when Square realized they didn't have disc space limitations.

You could definitely do TWEWY on a console, although the controls would be different.

This is a very strange statement to make, considering the battle system and controls define TWEWY. This reminds me of how on a different board I once saw someone attempt to argue that Trauma Center would play just as well with dual analog sticks.

Hell, Trauma Center didn't even play well with a Wiimote, and thats the closest to a Stylus you're ever gonna get.

I really don't see a problem with some SE games being on the DS. Actually, I like it. Really, with no real DS FE out yet...and having finished Advance Wars a while ago my DS was pretty much collecting dust. Got I found out about TWEWY, so I don't feel like I wasted money.

I thought that Trauma Center was fine aside from the suturing. I couldn't suture for shit.

That's been around for a while...I wish to hell it was true given how little effort it would take, and how much quick income SE could get from it, especially @ $10-20.

I don't think SE likes their original FFVII (engish) anymore. They have enough pride that they'd want a new translation team to do it, which means an investment.

see that teaser is just the intro, it'll open up to a much more epic story later

you can see in the trailer, he chops off the guy's arm. i bet there will be a big battle, hacking away at the limbs and then you find get to the head and get ready to go in and
start the dating sim with the city giant.
