You could always buy the slim PS2 I have, DUE.

    NO.

I'm not buying a third ps2. It is not an xbawks. I need a PS3.

Pfft. Your loss. I would have given it up for a ham sandwhich.

    CDs are actually compressed.

    I mean...that's how CDs are made ;)

But not nearly as compressed as say a 320kbps mp3.

CDs are pressed. I was making a geeky joke. All retail CDs are made in pressing machines where technology gnomes run on giant magic wheels that power gears that push levers that smush a big pressing piston into a CD to get the data on it.

Yeah, but typically what is on a cd will be smaller in size than an original recording.

When I record, my drum tracks alone could fill a CD.

Depending on the model, I've had success with adjusting the height of the lens.

I think this covers how to do it. Basically you're going to take apart the system and look for that little toothed wheel on the disc drive.

Yes, that tends to work, especially if it's an old, fat PS2 (not a slim one).

Oh yeah. It's real phat if you know wha i'm sayin

I had to adjust my PS2 to play God of War. It was super easy to do.

I just had a pretty good idea for an album that I think I will actually do

a really desolate bluesy-bluegrass sound, with the theme of the desolate, freezing Canadian north and the fucked up shit that has happened therein

the first track would be a blues rendition of The Cremation of Sam McGee

    wikipedia wrote:
Pulse-code modulation (PCM) is a digital representation of an analog signal where the magnitude of the signal is sampled regularly at uniform intervals, then quantized to a series of symbols in a numeric (usually binary) code. PCM has been used in digital telephone systems and 1980s-era electronic musical keyboards. It is also the standard form for digital audio in computers and the compact disc "red book" format. It is also standard in digital video, for example, using ITU-R BT.601. However, uncompressed PCM is not typically used for video in standard definition consumer applications such as DVD or DVR because the bit rate required is far too high. The only consumer video format that used Uncompressed PCM was the Laserdisc format.
