You should consider getting an International Driver's License, unless they're prohibitively expensive.

Hrm, so i tlooks like going through chicago involves construction once again, I-94 to Madison via Milwaukee involves 40 miles of construction, but I-90 to Madison is only 18 miles, so I'm going to be re-routing the route that way. Scheduling should remain about the same, stay tuned for official route updating.

You should reschedule so you drive through chicago at 1AM, that's the secret to avoiding traffic on I-90/94 here.

Yeah, except then we'd either get into Seattle way too early or way too late. Scheduling is based on desired arrival time and worked backwards from there.

Clearly the only solution is to reschedule PAX =)

The trip goes through chicago around... 6:30pm central time? That's not so bad.

So, my roommate is a semi-pro photographer, and had his camera with him for our PAX trip last year, and for the CCST. Unfortunately, he's kind of a perfectionist when it comes to his photos, so it takes him a long time to edit (not to mention he took 3000+ photos over the week, so he whittled them down to 118.)

But he finally got them finished and most of them are from the CCST.

Okay, here it is, the Energy Information Administration's estimates for gas this year.
    Source: http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/cfapps/STEO_TableBuilder/index.cfm

Gasoline Regular Grade Retail Price Incl Taxes U.S. Average for September 2009: $2.009

Typically our price is a few cents higher, here's those figures.
    US Average August 2006: $2.952
    Our Average 2006: $3.00

    US Average August 2007: $2.786
    Our Average 2007: $2.93

    US Average August 2008: $3.779
    Our Average 2008: $3.80

That gives a difference of as little as 2.1 cents and as many as 14.4 cents. At this point I'm ready to start doing calculations at $2.15, but that may be a bit premature.

I've edited the contents of this post into the OP

It just took someone to speak up <.< >.>

WE should do stuff like have every other car in a different lane and have everyone change lanes at the same time. And maybe a jump rope/snake formation (first third in one lane, second in another, third in another/same as the first) and then change lanes.

We'll drive the other motorists nuts!

Plotted times use Google maps estimated times, then are rounded up based on experience. Each leg has some buffer time to give us leeway to hit a bathroom stop or in case traffic holds us up. Typically we roll into Seattle fairly close to on time (within an hour).

We could have alternate people chanigng lanes at the same time, and then a wiggly snake pattern, and then a one-two car line!

One word: Construction. We'll most likely take a look to see how all the projects are fairing the week of the CCST, and make a final decision then. Heck, everybody's following Moe anyway, so we could just leave it up to him.

I think we might switch over to I-90, since it has only 16 miles of construction compared to I-94's 46 miles, and 294's similar insanity. A little more in tolls, but it will save us a lot of time.

The stretch of combined northwest-bound 90/94, where it splits into westbound 90 and northbound 94, that split always sucks. Once you get out past it, outbound 90 isn't nearly as bad.
