Yeah, my availability is pretty wonky right now. Working a crappy retail schedule at the moment, but hopefully it'll improve a bit after my move in a few months.

Im new to the system but it looks fairly similar to 3e which I used to run a bit..
Never played a dnd character before but I've done some pbp with shadowrun.
Im openminded about what class with maybe a slight wizard bent. but I'm not picky about it really.

I'd like to fill a leader position. Below is a general description fo the game, and what I'm looking for. PM me if interested. I'd strongly prefer someone who would be able to post at least once a day, and with like, a posting history to indicate that you can. It would just keep things moving and save me from having a lot of passive aggressive angst. Anyway here's the information, in a format that will make you think I'm organized. Time Zone: I live in the Eastern Standard Time Zone, so the play time will kind of be more favorable to that zone. (8pm-12am) or something similar to that, assuming RL doesn't kick my ass.

Creation rules: 24 Flat -OR- 22 + 3d3-5 Point Buy (20 - 26 points, you must roll this even if you don't use it. and you must notify me before you roll this.)

The Table - Rules: Not too serious. The 4th wall may be broken. I'm not really serious at all. Seriously.
The Table - Content: I'd imagine this is its a serious adventure that doesn't take itself seriously or something?
Difficulty: Adaptive. Most changes will be made known to you when they happen. I'd love to finish telling the story [strike]for a change[/strike]. :U
Experience Required: As it seems likely that you'll be able to participate in the game somewhat regularly you should be ok.
Books Required: Any 4E content is allowed, at my discretion. Don't be a dick?
Abstract:
The Merkaban Mercantile Union has gained access to artifacts of immense power, pushing the Highborne civilizations to the brink of destruction. With the return of an ancient acquaintance, the Merkaban advance has been halted. Now, it is up to a small group of volunteers to set out with the aid of a displaced ally to halt the Merkaban war machine before it is too late.
Party Composition:
There are 5 slots for this game. The party will have the option of picking up some allies, who at times can accompany them... nothing too special about that.
Characters will fall into a few meta-'roles' to seed them better in the world. At least one character fills each role. If you're interested in playing, be sure to say what role you want to fullfill. At this point, I'm only looking for one more player, with a fairly specific role and concept.
You can't be a Dragonborn or Tiefling. Not that they don't exist, it's just that it'd be complicated to introduce them to the group now. The general rule for character and player interactions that I go by is don't be a dick
There are also 3 static NPCs too. It gives a little of the story away, it's pretty much a given within the first session or so.
The Party:
The Upperclass Highborne : (Closed) You patriotically wish to save your folk. Because it's the right thing to do or whatever, or maybe this will make people believe you're the hero you've talked yourself up to be?
The Lowerclass Highborne : (Closed) Drafted/conscripted into service, but chosen for this particular task. Couldn't be deadlier than front line infantry, right?
Lowborne Refugee : (Closed) "Hey, not all of us are bad..." The Merkabans hit your homeland hard prior to anyway.
The slot you'd be taking would be of the Highborne variety, with a military background... a Survivor. Beyond that you can probably go nuts. You'd also be filling the Leader class role. Since I provide an NPC dedicated to healing related things, you don't have to focus on the healing side of it, not that there's much of that in 4E anyway.
Static NPCS
The Ranstead: For all intents, its a tank. The party gets around in this. It does not have weapons. It doesn't talk... out loud.
The Driver (NPC, Support): Drives the Ranstead. Will probably never leave it.
The Healer (NPC, Ally): Dedicated NPC to the task of healing and healing related feats, abilities and Alchemy.
World Brief:
Some details for now, in random thought order:
Transportation is possible by rigging corestone to contraption creating what are the functional equivalent of zepellins. There exist massive cannons, and flak guns for anti ground-to-air attacks. Ground transporation is woefully underdeveloped, given the abundance of easily available flight even horses are a rarity. Transit by sea is fairly good.
Highborne and Lowborne generally get along, unless they're Merkaban. Racial dispersion pretty much within the normal 4E standard. Dwarves tend to be Lowborne and Eladrin favor Highborne origins. Dragonborn and Tiefling are practically nonexistent.

At this point you'd start out coming from the faceless pool of assorted soldiers, criminals, adventurers and so forth that would continue to occupy the place of refuge that replacement characters come from when party members die. Being able to post at least once a day would be a plus. The initial posting I made on this page has a little more info about it, but I'm very flexible about all of that. the ooc threads has more info too. pm for if interested/have questions/whatever.
