I just beat the first boss of WW, man i forgot how cool the bosses looked... and how easy they are
Gannon in WW goes something like this "two swords eh?" *whack whack* "let's see what you got for your final form" ... "what he's dead?"
Yes but you fight him in the most breathtaking arena possibly in all of the franchise. That alone made it worthwhile.
Not to mention I felt that Ganondorf had a really interesting and unique design in WW.
I dont get the hate on the WW final fight, I thought it was pretty obvious that puppet gannon was intended to be the 'challenging' boss fight, while the crazy awesome dual-swords while on top of a tower with an ocean collapsing on top of it bit was just to be epic.
I think it was because of how big and omnious he looked. Plus he had two huge glowing swords.
Much better than the boar Ganon in Twilight Princess.
I didn't mind the Boar. I felt it was fitting that after so many attempts he was still so consumed by greed and lust for power that he becomes a pig.
My gripe is that they made the fight utterly boring.
Every part of the TP final battle was boring. It's like Nintendo was trying to remedy complaints of WW's brevity and went too far in the other direction, because every phase just had you repeating the same action over and over again until you finally got into a brief and unsatisfying swordfight.
I have to admit, though, it did help emphasize the TP Ganon's one interesting quality. That son of a bitch just would not die.

I actually thought they went the route of the boar because some of the project leaders decided to throw wolf link a bone after making him utterly useless after the first quarter of the game.
Whereas I actually liked the fact that TP's final boss made you use every skill you'd picked up in the game instead of just being the brief mess most other Zelda final bosses were.
Oh, look. My childhood hero hasn't been butchered and turned into a child. Now provided they don't find some other way to inject hokey kindergarten crap into the game - I might just have to buy it.
So im thinking this will be set the earliest in the timeline (lol) and show how the master sword was made, or something, or this girl gets trapped in the sword or something.

something is going to happen however.
Man, quite a few of the games claim to be at the beginning of the timeline. Whatever that is. I'm pretty sure one of the Four Swords games revolves around making the Master Sword in fact.
However the girl is blatently the Master Sword one way or another, borrowing the design of the Fairy Queen from Wind Waker somewhat too. Swap spirit of the sword for fairy of the sword then, same thing really.
I'll still buy it, but I'm not sure I want to have my sword explaining monster weak points to me...though out of all the sidekicks she's the most likely to have that knowledge!
I hope it isn't set in the past, or even Hyrule (but I'm pretty sure it will be). The game directly after the "traditional" one have always been my favourite. Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass wooo~
it makes gameplay sense with her being the sword too, what with the 1:1 sword play thats supposed to the be the focus of this new game, the sword will talk through the wiimote and a whole bunch of other talking sword type stuff, i dont actually think youll be swinging her around like that however, mostly likey youll be able to transform her back and forth to talk or transport ala minda or her spirit pops out like that.

I don't think you're childhood hero has ever been portrayed being much older than a teenager.
I'll be the first to tell you the formula's getting a bit long in the tooth, but if you're honestly saying that you haven't been playing the last several games then you're missing out for no good reason.
You should know better than to throw out the "lol teh kiddie" business around here.
So im thinking this will be set the earliest in the timeline (lol)...
The creators maintain that the series has a set timeline, however due to debates over the available information the timeline continues to be disputed. Miyamoto stated in a 2003 interview that there is a master document detailing the timeline. Eiji Aonuma has also stated in a July 2007 video interview that there is such a document on his PC, and that this document is considered confidential. According to this interview, development of a Zelda title can commence without the team knowing in advance where exactly the title will fit into the timeline; but by the time the title is finished, its placement in the timeline will be determined.
Also, I loved the TP final fight. No, it wasn't that challenging but it was at least harder and took more time than WW's. It also felt suitably epic.
I think TP has a great deal of claim to being the best Zelda in the series, but it just needed a few more easter eggs and hidden spots and secrets to find like OoT. They had a lot of world to fill and it occasionally felt a little empty. But the quality and polish of the game is incredible, and it has many memorable moments (though perhaps not as many as OoT, which might be crucial). The criticism is of course that it's more of the same, and that I think is why some people just don't like it that much. It's basically OoT's love-letter.

I think our perception of our childhood hero is different, sir.
So what is everyone's idea for the plot? Based on a piece of concept art.:P
a. Collect the "master material" at the end of each temple and then forge the Master Sword and kill Ganon.
b. The Master Sword has been stolen and broken into pieces, it's spirit has found a young hero to help it retreive them(note: the pieces are at the end of each temple). This might work actually, give her a reason to know where to go next. You kill Ganon once the pieces are collected.
c. The girl isn't actually that important to the plot even if she is the sword, she just acts as Navi. It would be hilarious if the game acted as if the Master Sword had always been able to transform into a girl. Plot really revolves around beating bosses in temples, collecting a group of items and then killing Ganon.
I would like Ganondorf as a sidekick.
Just to mix things up a little.
You could ride him in pig-form.

I would prefer things go back to LttP where you didn't have a sidekick with you, but you had whats-his-ass telepathically communicating with you. That was enough support I think. Or we could go with LA and just have it be people in a town supporting you.

The Legend of Zelda: Ganondorf's Crusade. In which Ganon must defend Hyrule from being completely annihilated by an alien menace. It may not be his Hyrule yet, damnit, but it might be someday!
I would not mind a prequel / side-story that details Ganondorf's fall from grace. Everybody loves seeing someone with good intentions eventually become blinded by power and/or hate.

Spoilers pertaining to Wind Waker and maybe I guess OoT.
There was no fall from grace. He never had good intentions. Even his characterization in Wind Waker proved against that. He says he coveted the wind, he was jealous of it, therefore he was out to destroy and rule. That's not noble intentions at all.
And in OoT, when you meet whats-her-face as Young Link in the desert temple, she mentions that Ganon is a complete tool and out for power.

Alternatively, play as Ganon, destroy armies, enslave the population, then end the game with the Goddesses flooding everything.

No doubt. But that doesn't mean they can't give him a little more depth next time around, does it? Like some external threat comes to Hyrule, and he tries to hero it up and opts for the Triforce of Power over Courage, and becomes worse than what he was fighting.
...Or he's like Sauron and is basically just Hyrule's closest thing to Satan.

I thought he had plenty of depth and pathos in Wind Waker. Any more and you reduce his menace. I liked the idea of Ganondorf being an old man who, to a certain extent, regretted how his actions destroyed the world but was still drive to complete what he set out to do.
For years I thought that Agahnim was a toad-like creature. What is actually a tiara I thought was two round green eyes and an o-shaped mouth. His actual face was a high collar to me.

It only works once but goddammit is it hilarious

The most truly telling bit is those yellow stripes coming off the jewel that match pretty much perfectly on both of them.
no, that was called phantom hourglass.

I like the isolated feeling you had from time to time in TP as human Link (though yes, I know, Midna was technically still with you).
