It's Peter Parker in a yeti suit. His life in marvel 616 sucks so much he actually made a jump to an entirely new universe through the power of pure self-loathing, and now is throwing Tom Breevort's finely tuned tracking senses off the trail by pretending to be a tough guy and not cracking any jokes.

I hope the quote's accurate, and Bulletproof finally gets a personality and the chance to do some cool stuff. In his original appearance he was kind of hyped up, stated to be as strong as Invincible and as fast as the Red Rush. But he never really lived up to that hype, and instead spent most of his time getting beaten up or standing off-panel.

I hope they reveal that he has an oddly specific form of invulnerability that only covers bullets and knives shaped like bullets, but not bullets shaped like knives.

Bulletproof actually got his name from his time spent as a body double for various rappers. But as hip hop slowly eclipsed gangsta rap in popularity, his once profitable enterprise fell into decline, and he was forced into the life of a superhero.

Or he was as much a fan of this guy as I was when he was a kid.

In case people haven't read Invincible War yet, isn't bulletproof
supposed to be missing a hand? Or am I forgetting that having been dealt with?

Cybernetic replacement. (Much like Rex Splode's hand, or nearly all of Rick Sheridan and Donald's bodies). Lost body parts seem pretty easily replaced with cybernetics in the Invincible universe.

So I just read the first Ultimate collection.

REALLY enjoying this so far. While hearing a bit about the series spoiled part of it for me, it has been really interesting.

Same here, and it reads really quickly too. The only thing that got a little annoying was the constant use of the same panel. Glad they acknowledge that though.

The third hardcover is definitely my favorite to the bunch so you'll have to let me know what you think of it. And welcome to the series!

On a Kirkman-related tangent, does Haunt get better after the first 5 issues? I got the first trade for $10 and it's okay for that price, but I don't know if I want to start following it yet

Ryan Ottley is no longer going to be on the book so if you're a fan of the art I'd say give it up.

It's only on issue six, and the sixth issue was a recap issue, so it's hard to say. I'm liking it, but it seems pretty formulaic and derivative right now. Which is honestly a problem with a lot of Kirkman's stuff, at least until he has a chance to flesh out the characters and develop the setting a bit more.

It's the events of the series, told from the perspective of a supporting character.

    Not Kirkman's best idea.

    just finished the 2nd UC.

God... Robots facial expression panels just fucking kill me every time they do one.

Of course since the first mentioning of "One of them might end up becoming the next Supervillain" joke that Invincible made right after meeting the Teen Team for the first time, I have been waiting for Robot to become one. Not sure if its gonna happen. Dont want to know... but damn if I cant wait to find out.

I've only read the first two or three issues of Haunt so far - are there any signs that it takes place in the Invincible universe like Wolf-Man, Tech Jacket, Brit, and Capes did?

Nice! I've really hated the blue costume. Not much happening in that preview, but an extra issue of Invincible is always a good thing.

I like the yellow caped look. There were a lot of cool alternate Invincible designs in those issues - I wanted to see more of Ninja Invincible.

I think the black and yellow one LOOKS cooler but I'm a personal fan of the Omni-Man one.

I do think he should change his costume to signal his transition to adulthood, when/if that ever comes.

He kills people now and has a kid on the way (unless Eve is going all Scarlet Witch with her powers), so I'd say the character is definitely growing up. I figure he'll be "all grown up" after Vultrumite War and wouldn't mind seeing him where a costume closer to Omni-Man's.
