The last story alone is worth the 5 bucks.

Well, yeah, I'm sticking with it through the first arc before I decide whether to take it from my pull list. Last issue actually wasn't that bad, but it really needs to get better over the next few issues.

Also, I'm not buying that DC Christmas special because it's not in the budget. If I didn't have 7 Annihilation back issues to get, I'd have thought about it. Joke's on you, Bad Karma and Furu: I'm free-ballin'. 8)

That's some fine work up there. Is Captain Cold meant to have a bit of a pink nose from the cold, or is that just my monitor? If so, cute detail.

So far I've read X-Factor, X-23, and Bullet Points. X-Factor was great as always (I'm sure scans_daily loves the bit about Rictor and Shatterstar), X-23 looks alright and ties into New X-Men's latest, and I'm not that into Bullet Points since the premise of everyone becoming a different hero doesn't appeal to me too much. It's like that panel from The Nail where the Justice League mentions who they usually fight and it turns out the rogues are all switched around, but in this case the panel's the entire story.

    QUESTION: Any mutants?

ANSWER: No. Not really any mutants here. You can't have everything be echanged. Otherwise then it becomes silly. Mutants are what they are because they are born that way.

    QUESTION: A book without Wolverine?

    ANSWER: Not necessarily.

Earlier, he makes a presumably hypothetical statement about Dr. Strange ending up with an adamantium skeleton instead of going to Tibet. That wouldn't make sense, though.

Since I shortened the titles I'm getting, I decided to at least give it a chance. But seeing as thats what I said for The Flash, I'm not getting my hopes up. It's just moving really slow. I haven't read this one yet, so I hope I'm proven wrong.

X-Factor- Awesome. So awesome. The new artist is a great fit for the book, all the characters get some development, and the seeds for the next story arc are planted. A+ Buy this book if you're not already.

Escapists- Vaughn throws some curveballs with this story, faking the reader out in the beginning and then taking the story to a slightly unexpected conclusion at the end. A very satisfying end to a great mini-series. As unlikely as it is, especially given the message of the book, I really hope Vaughn revisits these characters, because I've already grown so damn attached to them. A

Green Lantern Corps- After Gibbons' last arc left me a bit cold, Keith Champagne came in and wrote the hell out of this. He introduces two new, extremely interesting characters, and plays Guy up as the chauvinistic, smug dick that we all know and love, and reveals a new faction within the Corps. Patrick Gleason's back doing pencils again as well, which is just awesome. He does the kind of creepy, dark work that suits alien enviroments and the emptiness of space perfectly. A

52- It's 52. Good, if somewhat bland art, a story that advances by inches, and a lot of neat little clues and trivia stuff sprinkled around. Osiris and his crocodile pal was a highlight of this issue, as was Ralph's entire section, though the whole yeti thing could have been cut or reduced in length to make Dibny's confrontation with Rama Kushna more powerful. B The Blue Beetle back-up: God I hate you Jaime.

The Spirit- Awesome done-in-one noir style story with Cooke's usual flair. Ebony White's short banter with Denny was great, as was the way Denny retained his whole down-to-Earth attitude, even as crazy crap is happening all around him, and a chatty newswoman with no sense of self-preservation seems to do everything in her power to get a bullet put in the Spirit's head. The little news tickers were also filled with all kinds of weird non-sequitr humor that oddly reminded me of Nextwave and the old Fallout games. A I really hope Cooke gets to do this story for a good, long while, because I know I want to keep reading.

Justice League of America- I'm bored. And I don't care about Geoforce. And I kind of want to take a nap. I dunno, this just isn't doing it for me. I think I'll have to drop it and come back if Booster's suit ever shows up in it. At least this one had a cool reveal on the last page. C+ Technically not a bad book, but it's just so uninteresting to me.

I was hoping for at least a small mention of, "He takes his name from two previous heroes, one of which was so much cooler than him, and the other which was perhaps less cool, but it was the Golden Age so we won't hold that against him." I still buy Blue Beetle despite not even liking it that much but man, that kid burns my biscuits. Burns 'em right up. Jaime's attempts to mack on a nerdy redhead are slightly redeeming him in my eyes though. Slightly.

Yeah well in order to make for that I'm going to say Jamie is the bestest Blue Beetle and Ted was a old fat man who was never very good and had a dumb costume.

    Also was a eunuch.
