Does anybody want me to bring my top-loader nes?

I vote YES, but just be aware you may not be able to use it much with the Xboxes and Wiis coming along - I'm trying to get my N64 shipped down for the trip, so if anyone has N64 games go ahead'n pack 'em.

TNTrooper has the n64 covered and i plan on bringing this http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/retro-gaming/c15c/

not that i'm discouraging you from bringing yours . . .

Who wants the @paxtrain twitter account? I was going to live tweet the goings on of the trip, but I won't be there, so...

I know this is about as off-topic as it gets, but does anyone know whether part of the Seattle Gameworks is 21 and over? I know the whole place is 18 and over in the evening, which is no problem, but if they have a limited bar area or something it could prevent me from getting into the 1up meetUP.

The bar is the only area in Gameworks that is 21+ to be in. The arcade and the restaurant will be 18 and older.

When is the 1up meetup? And is GameWorks any good? Their site makes the place look cornier than Dave and Busters.

10:15 Saturday, conveniently right in the middle of the concert, just like how the ListenUP panel is during Friday's. It's also specifically on the second floor, but as the bar is only a small fraction of that I'm hoping I'll be able to get in a mingle just fine.

I personally don't like GameWorks, but that's because I don't like many modern arcade games. I especially don't like racers or rhythm games in an arcade setting, and they're full of those.

Concerning on-train Rock Banding, you can see the list of DLC I have here. Some of you may be aware of my financial situation so unfortunately I can't afford to beef this up to any real degree, and the problems we had with the internet last year basically make slapping someone else's HDD or memory cards in there to use their songs pretty much unworkable.

However! I do have 400 points left on my account which is enough for two, maybe three songs depending on the price. If anyone has any song requests now is a good time to let me know what they may be.
As an alternative you are, of course, welcome to pop to your local 7-Eleven or whatever and buy a points card and then email me the code. That's an idea I'm throwing it out purely because I know how awesome you guys are and someone will suggest it anyway. If you want to do that I'm not going to stop you, but I'd feel incredibly awkward accepting anything.

On Monday I caved and started asking my readers for monetary donations to help keep me afloat, and I still feel incredibly guilty not just that I've had to ask but that so much money has been thrown at me the last two days - enough to ensure that I can stave off death for a week or two after PAX. Hell, if PAX weren't already paid for I wouldn't be going at all.

Worse comes to worse, I could probably bring in my HDD. My track list is in my sig.

Also, I recall someone mentioning the need for a bass pedal. I have a spare one that I don't use, its a RB2 pedal. I can bring that if that hasn't been handled.

I don't own a 360, so I don't know the process for how the 360 checks the DRM status of the music on someones hard drive, Does the 360 have to have internet access the whole time, or for only a few minutes when the game is launched or something else?

I'd say pack yer hard drive. I'm pretty confident we can sort out a solution for getting internet.

If you bring your Hard Drive, your songs won't work because the game will know that the gamertag isn't linked to the console and thus we won't be able to play any fo the tracks without internet access. I tried this earlier this year when I went back to England to visit my family - I brought my HDD to my sister's place, and she doesn't have internet at all so we couldn't play any of the songs on my drive.

We'll have internet in a limited form. Thus why I asked for any details on how "much" internet is needed? Does the xbox have to be online for the whole duration while playing the game, or does it only need to login, load the game and do some checking?

BigRed clarified it for me.. No dice, don't bother bringing the drive.

If memory serves, Rock Band authenticates each time you play song that has a different console's signature. So the connection would have to be pretty constant.

I'm on the train along with a friend from Portland to Seattle. Would it be helpful to bring any sort of food, drinks, or really anything? It'd be easy for me to lug some stuff on the train.

Any ideas? It'd have to be stuff that would get consumed or otherwise not need lugging about in Seattle.

P.S. We'll be up for pretty much any table top or video game. Anything fun starting in Portland?

I think someone volunteered an RB1 pedal held together with duck tape, so if you'd like to bring a working RB2 one (I assume it is compatible with the RB1 drums), I'm sure it would get used.

Yeah, if we can get at the least a working pedal that would be ace. Chances are I'll bring mine anyway, but I can feel it bending.

And it squeaks. Oh, how it squeaks. It's like a nymphomaniacal rat.

I would like to recommend bringing a sleeping bag or at least a heavy jacket for anyone sleeping in coach. Last time I froze my ass off so this year I'm bringing a sleeping bag.

Oh, and they sell blankets at the concessions car, but they're like 15 bucks, and made entirely of spit and lint.

I got mine a while ago.. I saw a post or message somewhere that said most should get theirs on Friday, if not you shouldn't have any problems going to will-call with your printout.

If anyone has a laptop with the cellphone/internet card, you could piggyback a 360 onto that just long enough to get Rockband started, and then disconnect it.

Last year we had a Brit fly into LA just so he could ride the train with us. Do we have the same happening again this year? Does anyone know? Because I'm probably not going to be able to afford to go back to England until next year, so I was hoping to put in some chocolate/sweet requests...

    Hey all,

So I'm officially going to go now...I'm going to buy my ticket today!

Is anyone from SF?? Anyone want to carpool together from SF to either Oakland or Emeryville?

Please let me know soon! I'm going by myself and want to make friends for the ride! :D

    PM me, if so!

I'll be getting on in Sacramento. I won't be on long before we swoop you up, gidgets. See you on the train!

Hmm...still looking for someone to carpool with from San Francisco to the train station though!! Anyone???

We've always gone to Emeryville, but this year we're getting on in San Jose because it's straight down the Cal Train line. I don't know if this makes it easier or more difficult for you but you're welcome to ride Caltrain with us. (or before us, actually, since we get on at Hillsdale.) We're planning on hitting a restaurant near the San Jose station before boarding the CS as well.
I believe Amtrak runs a shuttle from the city- but I wouldn't take a car to OAK or EMY. Oakland station is basically Jack London Square and Emeryville's lot is really sketch- not to mention expensive.

Damn, San Jose is too far :(, and it's more expensive. Sounds like fun, I'll just meet up with y'all on the train. I'll be getting on Emeryville and park in their shady parking lot. Hopefully the ObDeck doesn't get expunged again.

Still, if there's anyone going from San Francisco, lemme know!

Sorry if this was answered already, but how exactly were we going to get from the train station to the hotels near PAX?

What was the address of the actual train station in Seattle we're getting off at? I've got like 10 busses that go next to my hotel, I could probably just hop on one of those...
