Last minute packing for flight to LA.
Thanks to the miracle of a spherical planet I'm going to arrive just before I leave, i think.
I'm bring Players handbooks 1&2, as well as Martial Power if spares are needed.
If no-one else has it I hope to bring Arkham Horror boardgame, if the weigh-in is kind.
My sympathies to all Californians currently on fire.

Are you on the PAXTrain? Didn't see yer name on the roster! If so, Welcome aboard, when do you get into LA?
People may recall we had some trouble last year playing the drums in Rock Band. We had to sit on some luggage. It wasn't the right height, it couldn't support a person's weight, and it looked bloody stupid.
I've just successfully managed to dismantle and squeeze my drum throne into my luggage. So that problem we had last year? Yeah, not a problem anymore.
Yeah, me too. I'm dangerously close to some of the fire (I live at the foot of Mt Gleason, the fire is 2 miles away from me) so my PAX luggage is also an Emergency Evac Kit. I'll be packing my external HDD for my PC as well so that none of the Jump Leads data is lost.
Did we settle on what movies we were going to bring for movie night, if it's still on?
I'm still brining The Colour of Magic, Hogfather, Hot Fuzz and... er... probably some other things. Much of my stuff is Region 2 so I'll need to be able to connect my laptop up to things.

Ah, a Pratchett fan too eh? Then again, who isn't? A very good selection of titles there, almost makes me want to consider changing my flight to LA and taking the train with the WTCC crowd. Until that is I wake up in a cold sweat from the thought of getting off of a 11.5 hour flight only to joint a train journey for 72 hours.
Speaking of Hot Fuzz, my podcast, the SuperHappyFunTimeShow just released a vidcast with me trying to explain the finer points of cricket to my American co-hosts. To say it was train wreck like is being kind. You can watch it here.
On a final, non plugging note, I just got word from TimeCruiserMike that he received the second and final batch of forum member badges. He now has 100 badges to hand out on the WCTT train. He will only be giving them out to forum members mind!

And I'm bringing my collection of Rifftrax. The currently most popular of the ones I have are Tron and Red Dawn.
they say the Station fire wont be contained for another two weeks so I might as well get away from all the smoke. My house is near the evacuation zones but not as close to the fires. I will be bringing the PHB 1 along with a Monster Manual just in case along with two sets of dice.
Also I want to play some MTG on the train. Havent played any one for a few years but i took the time to rebuild my deck. I think a small elimination tournament would be fun.
DVDs I shall bring:
Spaced
Venture Bros (S1 and S2)
Maybe something simple and fun, like Snatch.
Also, I'll have some or all of the 4e core rulebooks, two sets of dice, my MTG starter deck, and as many pages of the Call of Cthulhu rulebook that I can print out before my ink cartridges die.
Do you really think I'm going to go back and read this entire thread for something that should be in the OP? Besides, I figured someone knew offhand since you are all so up on things. I was only asking so I could tell the taxi company, but you know what? Do it yourself.

I should have stated my reference to the OP a bit clearer. I'm sorry.
Also, how does one display a flat-panel LCD on the train? Will I need to fix it on the wall, or will it be fine on a stand. And if so, are there ready-made places for tvs to sit and be displayed on the train? Hmmm?
As you can see, I've never been on Amtrack before.
Since we've landed some TV's I'm debating on weather the projector is really needed.
Since you can get a fairly large image out of a projector, it would be well-suited for crowds during movie viewings. I can't imagine 15+ people crowded around a 19 or 26'' display (well-suited for 2-4 player gaming-sessions).

If I recall correctly, the Hot Fuzz viewing on the ride back in '07 was on a 19" monitor, with 20 or so peope crammed into the arcade car.
Same with the Dr. Horribe Singalong and Movie Night last year, but on the Obs deck since the arcade car closed at night last year.
That sounds fine and totally doable. I was just thinking of the bestest possible conditions. And again, I've never been on PAXTrain before...but I imagine the experience will be rad no matter what the hell we watch anything on.

My bad, Tek. I missed it because of all the spoilers surrounding the link and it was causing me a lot of grief because I knew I'd seen it before. I have to many non-PAX things going on to spend as much time on the forums as I'd like this year.
When is California not on fire? When Australia IS on fire. I think it's our turn in February.
I blame Blizzard. That's two years in a row that fires have started right as BlizzCon was ending. Maybe this is why PAX is in the much less flammable Seattle?

Getting in mid-morning on the 1st.
As for arkham Horror, you're probably right. I think it's still worth bringing though, in case the opportunity presents itself.
Quick glance shows 54, plus 1 not on the roster..
Page one, about the middle of the first post, in big letters.. heheh
or here
Might want to try hiding it a little better next year...
So now that we're at the last few days, is there anything that we still need?

During the rainy season. Which was sometime back in 2006.

Have a safe trip everyone.

Tropic Thunder
The Big Lebowski
Burn After Reading
I would definitely be in favor of watching Tropic Thunder. Can't get enough of that movie.

Actually, Squirminator, if it's easier, why don't I just bring Region 1 copies of Hot Fuzz and Shaun?

Gigantic for obviousness.

I haven't started packing yet. I always wait 'till the day before. But I'm going to Target today to stock up -- that counts, right?

I'm bringing a Region 1 copy of 'The Middleman', if comic relief is required.
