Four teenagers, one of them a friend of mine, were killed in a car crash outside Santa Fe last night.
A drunk driver veered into the wrong lane and crashed into their car.
Fuck you, New Mexico drivers.
Holy crap.
All four of them? That's insane. What happened to the drunk driver?
Nonlethal injuries.
The driver of the car that was struck is in critical state at a hospital, his four passengers died, and the drunk driver is conscious and coherent at a local hospital.
Isn't it pretty much common knowledge that you don't go to sleep with a concussion?
That's an old wives tale. There is no inherent danger in letting someone sleep; sleeping isn't going to kill someone. The problem is that if someone is sleeping, signs of their degradation might be difficult to assess. Either way, if you take a shot to the head, you need to be examined.
So maybe the 'common knowledge' should be 'don't let someone who has a concussion sleep until they've seen a doctor and been examined'
People don't use their signals
People go down the wrong direction of one ways just to take a shortcut
People drive erratically and impatiently
There are street racer jackasses (in car or on bike)
People REALLY suck at driving in this state, and there's no push to make it better other than the anti-drunk driving stuff.
It's not like Boston, where people are crazy but capable drivers. The biggest danger in Boston is getting flustered by everyone else and crashing your own car.
In New Mexico, people are aggressive and unskilled drivers, and you basically have to remain alert. I've had to drive my car into a ditch more than once to avoid being sideswiped or t-boned.

That's what I meant. Obviously you will have to go to sleep at some point. A lot of times hospitals will hold you overnight to monitor you if you have concussion. Going to sleep with a concussion doesn't equal death, not by a long shot, but it's unwise to ignore it.
Bottom line: You should always go to a doctor or the ER immediately if you take a big blow/bump to the head.
If there's one good thing to come out of all of this, it's a rejuvenation of crack-pot conspiracy theories. Not in the least, how crazy people are going to try to link these 4 deaths, never mind the amount of people who have died this past weekend who weren't famous.
So, random train of thought: I wonder how many well-educated people Billy Mays could convince that various conspiracy theories were true. Hell, even just one, say "The moon landing was fake". I'd want to see that documentary, I think Billy Mays has just the right push power to convince people to buy into anything.

Sad news. I was at my church job this morning when people found out, so it started off with one facebook status update which seemed like a joke until others started mentioning it too. There's always the chance that other pa people were in on the joke but I will be damned if it somehow spread to the masses that quickly
has a culture where pedestrians get to do what ever the fuck they want
walk across the roads at any time
you're supposed to stop for them
Yeah it was like that .. somewhere else I was, I forget, but someone said that even if somebody jumped in front of your car, you are liable. Which I think is crazy and not right maybe.
Also I had a small concussion earlier this week. They suck, shoulda been wearing my bicycle helmet, which I never do. Huge lump on my head and I was way nauseous all day. Bad memory, way out of it, etc.
The worst part though is the $950 catscan bill because I have no insurance.
And manslaughter charges putting him in jail for a long, long time
Not if you're rich and white!
....not cool. The same applies if you are rich and of any race. In the US a good attorney is everything. For minor things like traffic violations and misdemeanor crimes the mere presence of a well known attorney is enough to have the case thrown out or the charges reduced to the point that it's basically the same thing.
Being white has little to do with anything in America anymore. In fact, since most people are afraid to be accused of racism and the like they are more harsh towards white people these days.

There's a link to the story.
Fucking bullshit.

that is horrible, I'm really sorry man. It seems like they would have all been a pleasure to know.

I mean, it might be another story if I didn't walk just about everywhere, but still.

I didn't know such a thing existed. I have a feeling that if I could understand the lyrics, they would make me laugh.

Um, you do know that he didn't actually make those products right? He just yelled about them on commercials.
I, honestly, believe this to be the one thing truly right with the universe.
An asshole who thought that it couldn't happen to him gets the guilt of 5 families telling him he is the scum of the Earth
And manslaughter charges putting him in jail for a long, long time
All for one mistake that he had been repeatedly advised not to make since he was a child
Hope it was all worth it, fuckwit
What spring does with the cherry trees.
But I would rather the worthless asshole responsible be alive to face the punishment for what he'd done, than have him die a painless, drunken death.

yeah, it's horrible what they're doing to those poor boys
$500 fines? Court costs? Seven days of probation?
They'd never be so harsh to white kids!
Haha, awwww
You're one of those people!
I mean all they did was stamp on the head of an unconscious kid because they got their feelings hurt
