Hey, it worked out well in 07? Why not again? But have it be a big free for all or a 4v4 team match. You could even do some CTF or other objective based game.
They should do a Halo 3: ODST round.
Or PC version with 360 controller? o:

I KNOW. This is the round I will spend the most hours training for. I CAN'T drop out during the Ladykiller round. That would kill me.
I want 360 L4D too, but only because that's the version I'm used too. I'm going to need to do a lot of practicing for the RB round.
There will be one up on the forums here when we get closer to pax. Becuase they have to submit that to paxf or the program anyway.

I am an omeganaut, and I probably am going to be freaking out over what games to practice until the schedule comes out.
There is an epic story in betting against an omeganaut and then buying them drinks all night so that they are too hungover to compete.
I will not be doing this. I swear.
If you just can't wait to start preparing (and I suggest you start now), here's a few things that would be good to start practicing.
1. FPS PC shooter games IE, Quake, Unreal, TF2, Half-Life. This is probably the most important thing, especially for the ladies. They don't call this the lady killer round for nothing.
2. Jenga It seems that this has become the new tabletop staple for the Omegathon. There are plenty of strat sites out there believe it or not and you may want to look them up.
3. Rock Band I suggest focusing on the instruments you don't play much. In the past they've put drums on easy, but if you're as retarded as I am using more than 2 limbs, practice away! You could also try practicing vocals on Singstar or Lips.
4. Puzzle Games Any puzzle game will do. This is mostly to get your mind thinking in that problem solving way. Even games like Peggle in the past require analysis that a sharpened mind will benefit from.
And lastly PRACTICE EVERY DAY if at all possible. Even 15 minutes a day will keep you sharp and ready for the games. If you suck at FPS, you're not going to magically go from gun bait to fragmaster playing the day before the competition. It takes time to learn the muscle memory and twitch reflexes.
But most important HAVE FUN!

Yowch, that's a bit harsh? Hell, my first girlfriend ran a MOHAA/CS clan and kicked everyone's ass. I wouldn't be so quick to generalize women as "bad at FPS games." :P
It's not that women are bat at FPS games... it's the fact that no woman has ever gotten past the 3rd round of the omegathon... which happens to normally be the FPS round.
As a side note, that will be my main training point. I'm not going to pretend it will be easy to break those cuffs.
