Maybe that means Vol'Jin will finally be important to the story in some way as the "leader" of the lower-class races in Orgrimmar.

    I can dream.

The way they put it, he goes where the greatest shaman in the world goes when the elements are in chaos and in dire need of healing.

Presumably he's becoming a major NPC in a new neutral faction. They may be tying it into the comic storyline where the new council of tirisfal is seeking users of nature and holy magic instead of only arcane.

Since Blizzard's much more willing to do shifting storylines and major game world changes than they were in BC, hopefully they'll have something prepared to bring him back into the horde after his new job is finished. Considering how much of a douche Garrosh is and how much bad blood he's stirred up within the horde even before taking the reins (and how much more he's going to make when he tells two thirds of the horde they're not good enough to be in the REAL horde), maybe Orgrimar will see a repeat of the Undercity battle later in Cataclysm or next expansion after Deathwing's been dealt with.

But that's not all. Apparently the goblins' brush with slavery and death hasn't wiped out their unique sensibilities and philosophies, as they'll actually reshape Azshara to look like the Horde symbol.
This just sounds like a gnomish plot. Once they catch wind of this plan, you know they're going to copy it, and it'll be another three expansions before Gnomeregan is rebuilt. Again.

I could've sworn they specifically said Deathwing would be in the initial release, which made sense when you consider that Aszhara wasn't going to be in with him, but is still listed as a major player on the website. Now he's going to be like Icecrown Citadel or something?

Deathwing won't be a boss until a later date, as with Arthas and Icecrown Citadel, apparently. Which wasn't what was originally said at Blizzcon IIRC.

Um, they've been pretty clear that Deathwing will be the final boss of Cataclysm all along.

I think they meant that Deathwing was going to be in the game, but not as a boss. Much in the way Arthas was throughout Wrath, though hopefully with less "Next time, Gadget!" thrown in. They have main villains for each expansion and don't want another TBC scenario where the big bad dies a patch early and we're on some lore tangent at the end. Lacks build-up.

And they're really dedicated to making the leaders douchebags instead of imperfect and nuanced characters. They just lack a subtle touch with this.

Man that was the worst part of how he treated Arthas in this expansion:

"So we really want to build up Arthas as a major antagonist...by having him shake his fist at you and run away with 30% health every time you finish a questline".

I don't even think of him as Super-Arthas. Arthas actually had a personality. This guy is just so flat and boring, even with the Mathias Lerner quests.

Somebody at Blizzard must really hate Kael'thas. He was a reasonably interesting character in TFT, now he's a running joke with a whiny voice actor.

Arthas was evil because his daddy never gave him enough responsiblity, or something.

They've probably retconned it in the novel.
