It's only the strong Afrikaans influenced ones that are particularly bad, which is hardly representative of the country as a whole - it's just the most strongly associated with "white South African".
And I find it hard to believe that anyone could think even that to be the worst in the world.
in my chem lab last year the supervisor was an asian woman and the girl sitting opposite me was asian and neither of them had an accent (well they have NZ accents I guess but whatever), with both of them I was expecting accents when they talked and nope. TAKE THAT, STEREOTYPES
for some reason i find asians with australian accents absolutely hilarious
i've met a fair number of native japanese speakers here who learned english in australia/new zealand so they have a hint of those accents in their japanese-accented english. it's pretty great!

On the other hand, there was a Korean girl who went to my high school who shattered no stereotypes

Is this even worth answering? I could name a ton of accents I consider worse than that of my native country but that's hardly reflective of general opinion. All I meant is that, sure, the accent is bad - and to reiterate, I only mean the strong Afrikaans accent, in reality that's a pretty harsh stereotype, and sadly the only "South African" accent you hear in most international media - but there are bound to be a lot worse out there.
Personally: Indian, Australian, New Zealand, a lot of southern US accents, a lot of regional English accents are easily worse, to name a few.
