Norton slowly destroys your computer and if you try to get rid of it, it basically scrambles your registry and pops up every other day to plead for you to reinstall it. Norton is such garbage.

Dealing with Windows .dll system makes me pretty sympathetic to Apple's authoritarian approach to forcing developers to use Apple's development tools and libraries.

i really do want to crash but i felt the need to respond to this
several federal and PA supreme court cases have set precedent
once they have reasonable articulable suspicion of crime afoot, officers may take reasonable precautions to secure and neutralize any threats to their person that are readily observable
whether my pistol serves as RAS for criminal activity is left to be seen- i certainly don't think it does, commonwealth v robinson thinks it does... federal versus state, of course, but... it is largely undecided in my state
the point is that in this super anti gun city, it is par for th course for an officer to seize temporarily a weapon during a pat stop (or a strong felony stop, as i endured)
but it was not confiscated
in fact, the dumb motherfucker reloaded it and handed it to me with the muzzle facing him
i actually paused for a second
i don't want a cop to hand me a loaded fucking gun with the muzzle pointed at him
is this a goddamned videogame? is he going to shoot me and sprinkle crack on me?
i hate this goddamned city

while having a gun pointed at my head
and being told that if i move (though, again, i have not done anything against the law whatsoever) that i'll be shot twice in the head
and then laughed at when i ask for a badge number

if this were any amendment but the second, there wouldn't be contrary opinions- there wouldn't even be 'but really, what did you expect'
i was victimized and harassed and i suffered official oppression. regardless of what right i was exercising during the commission of those offenses, i was still well within the law and the responders on scene knew that and chose to stomp all over me anyway.
sometimes you get asked for ID when you open carry in philly- it is just a reality of the beast. elsewhere in the state, going unlicensed is fine (for open carrying), but in the big city you need a license. cool beans, that's fine. i am not trying to make an ACLU case out of being asked to furnish ID.
however i had a weapon pointed at me and i was set to prone. i was told unnecessarily that if i made a quick move (so far i had been absolutely compliant) i'd be shot twice in the head. i was disarmed and then finally my license was checked. i asked politely for the officer's name and badge #. i was refused and was told it'd be on the report. i asked for a copy of the report, i was refused.
this is exactly why i am into activism. this is such horseshit. every bystander within speaking distance was saying "that's fucked up, man, he wasn't hurtin' no one" "so what if he had a gun? man that shit is fucked up" "why you pointing a gun at that kid?" etc
i didn't lose any hearts or minds
but i will get to educate some people, and i will get the policy in philly publicized and maybe even shifted, however incrementally
i broke no law and i was subject to a felony stop; it was unjust and disproportionate

My least favorite software update is the "Digital Camera RAW Compatibility" update. It reads like a laundry list of things I desperately want but will never have.
This update extends RAW image format compatibility to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’09 for the following cameras:
