This game needs a beat up old car for you to drive around in. Or a motorbike. Yes, a nuke powered bike that zips you around like a Horse did in Oblivion.
I honestly wonder to what degree Bob is a sentient, independent being and to what degree it's just Harold anthropomorphizing him because he's stuck on his head.
Bob being a sapient entity would be far from the weirdest thing in the Fallout universe.
I like to think that, eventually, Harold and Bob work to restore life to the devastated earth, becoming a kind of real-life Yggdrasil. I really want them to follow up on Oasis in future installments.

Just use fast travel and make motorbike noises in your mind

Somebody tried to make a motorcycle mod, and they did the best they could I guess, but it looked all unnatural because the bike never leaned at all.
At least that was the way it was like a year ago or whenever it was. I haven't checked up on it since.
You know you don't have to agree with the game's morality if you don't want to Klash. It's just a number.
Of course I know that. Its just a real bummer when I know that the game is docking me for role playing, and because karma is universal, it gets weird. Suddenly I'm the devil himself and everyone hates me but slavers love me, even though I shoot at 'em for kicks.
Universal karma is broken. I look forward to reputation.

I love Oasis. I really hope to see it in the future, I hope that the growth-spurt is considered canon. I wonder what happens if he starts getting watered with Project Purity water.
Also, Bob might actually be sentient, given that he has somehow enabled Harold to see via his own appendages. After all, its Harold that is now housed in Bob.
Also, about ammo crafting. Can't you craft ammo in The Pitt? I've yet to do so, but I sure as hell appreciate the option. .44 ammo is rare as diamonds, which made me abandon my Repeater all together.
Basically, you can convert crappy ammo to good ammo. The Pitt is a great place to go with those 5000 useless minigun rounds you're hoarding.

In the words of Tim Cain, you know... the main dude behind the first one, if something doesn't make sense, "we're dealing with SCIENCE! here, not science.", as in Golden Age science, what was in the entertainment section in the 50's.
Don't try to make sense of it, it kills the mystery... or something...
the food makes sense when you think of it in the context of past-future
yes that's what I'm calling it now, past-future, deal with it.
Radiation fixes everything, all their food would be heavily irradiated (fuck we use gamma rays from Co60 as it is to sterilise food) so it will keep for longer. Problem solved.

Was going to get retail copy of Fallout 3, but I might just get it off steam. Easier and cheaper and such.
Do all mods work with the steam version? I tried looking through the op for the best mods, but there's so many.
FOOK2, to me is an essential mod, it just depends on what you want to change. I suggest playing the vanilla game and then figuring out what mods you want. I downloaded a few hideout mods and a couple quest mods.
The thing about the food that bugged me wasn't really that it would have decomposed or whatever, it's that it hadn't all been eaten yet.
And if you can handwave that radiation makes food keep longer, I can handwave that they just got the dates wrong and it hasn't been that long since the bombs fell.

Last i saw FOSE does not work with steam's encrypted .exe
and FOSE is required for many mods.
Has FOSE found a workaround yet?

Okay so I got my Fallout 1 installed yesterday, and I played for a bit - long enough to get destroyed in the Radscorpion caves.
Anyway, do any of you guys have any recommendations for mods for F1? There are a bunch linked on the GOG forums, just thought you might have some opinions.
Agh the NV collectors edition looks so good but I'm somewhat unsure whether or not I should spend my money on it or Halo: Reach, or some other game for that matter.
Collector's editions are cool and everything, but I just want the game and maybe that graphic novel. I have a lot of comic books and graphic novels. I hope it is well-done, and that it is available separate from the collector's edition.
I am at Tranquility Lane. Man, this is some whacky shit. I went to look for the abandoned house Old Lady Dithers told me about. All of the houses on the cul-de-sac look the same, so I went to see if it was marked on my Pip-boy. My pip-boy has been replaced by a Pip Boy Watch. funny stuff. I wish I had Pip-watch in real life. That would have been a neat piece of merch right there.
I got the 360 FO3 CE because it was on amazons deal of the day once for $30. I had been considering getting FO3 for ages but was unsure if I'd like it at all and that sealed the deal.
Having said that the entirety of the CE contents have been in the closet since the day they came and I've never really touched them. Bonus is they're in mint condition, but I honestly don't care about the bobblehead and the lunchbox. I mean, they're neat but not something I'd put out on my desk.
Nothing in the NV CE really jumps out at me as a "zomg you need to buy it!". If it came with like a free DLC redemption code or something maybe but eh.
I'm a fan of CE's though in general. I buy every Blizzard CE for the soundtracks/artbooks and for wow anyway the in-game pets.
Given that the music in NV better be Sinatra-esque era music they really really really missed a golden opportunity to put in a soundtrack into the CE. That would have sold me in a heartbeat. As it stands a cardgame wouldn't ever get played due to my OCD of keeping things like that in mint condition and the rest of the stuff is very meh to me.
My advise would be, for this CE at least, use the extra money on something like Reach or Fable III or other good games coming around that time.
I got the FO3 edition in the lunchbox because when I went to the store, all the regular non-special-addition versions were sold out, and I wasn't going to wait another few days to play the game.
I got a vault-boy bobblehead with it (kinda cool), but the thing that actually made it worth it was that it came with a book full of all the concept art. Concept art for the towns was especially great - Megaton, Rivet City and Project Purity were envisioned as much more interesting than what we actually got after hardware limitations and development time got in the way.
EDIT: It also came with a "making of" dvd that I have yet to watch.
I bought the fallout 3 360 CE (and a PC copy, and all the DLC cept Zeta which is broken) so I'll probably get the New Vegas CE too.
Strange thing, I just started Zeta, I've done the Cryo room and now I'm at the Hangar. Thus far, no glitches no crashes. I don't know if its a PC thing, but I'm damned glad I haven't run into the "auto-complete" glitch. Nothing feels better than unleashing Overlords and Glowing Ones onto the aliens.
Klash on
We don't even care... whether we care or not...

I previously beat Fallout 3 on the 360 (normal edition) on a shitty CRT TV. Now that I have my PS3 and 50" plasma I bought the GOTY. Is it me, or does Three Dog have new lines? I don't remember him announcing the names of the artists before...

I need some help from somebody with a knack for pickpocketing. I'm desperately trying to get Tashiro's armour in Zeta, but I just can't. I put Power Armour on him, which quite willingly slipped on, but I can't steal from him. He catches me every time. Paulson and Ashur only gave me a bit of a fight, but Tashiro just won't let me have his stuff. I've reloaded, left the area, just sat there patiently, but nothing seems to work.
100 sneak, Chinese Stealth Suit, crouched with [Hidden], but he catches me no matter how many times I try to get his armour, even if I try it one piece at a time.
Someone in the wikia discussion said they put a cryo-bomb in his pocket and picked it after it went off and that worked but I don't know.
Honestly if you really want it you can just kill him and take it. You'll never see him again anyway and you don't lose any karma and it doesn't effect anyone elses attitude toward you.

No, it looked like it was inside a casino and the dude had on glasses, wearing a suit and a fedora.

It's okay, he wears a cowboy hat now. Though he has gone back east.

What? What is this madness?!
That is incredible! Why is that not in the vanilla game? [strike]Is there a link for that?[/strike]
Nevermind. Here's a link for anybody too lazy to click the video itself.

Does that in the normal game, it's nothing new.
