Code Veronica is my second least favourite 'real' RE game (behind RE Zero). I mean come on, Steve.
Edit: As for the space marine, I think it's just that the space suit has become so common it's become a cliche. Halo, Crysis, Timeshift and Haze are ones I can think of just off the top of my head, there's others as well.
On the other hand, even in Mikami's best games the characters have been enormous cliche's anyway, so you probably should've known what to expect when you entered the thread.

Wait, so Mikami is partly responsible for when the characters in the games he produces are flawed, but he gets NO credit when he produces awesome games?

I'm struggling to understand this logic.
o_O Did you come from silly goose land or something? What the hell gave you the idea I was talking about characters from games he's produced? You realise he's been designing and directing games for years, right? Resident Evil. Dino Crisis. Resident Evil 4. God Hand. He directed all of those games and all of their characters were giant clichés.

You confuse Cliche with Bad. Their definitions are different.
Don't worry it's a common error.
Cliche's are cliche because they work. A well done cliche always works. Most people don't really want originality, they want something familiar done really well.
Morninglord on
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.

Shinji mikami and platinum games in general have proven themselves as being totally rad more than enough.
The gameplay reminded me a lot of it, just a bit faster.
The hell?

I have no idea how I don't have a post in this thread already. Some of you may not know me very well, and, as such, would not have anticipated how all up ins I am.
Sorry I've been up wayyyy to late....I guess I'll have to see how the systems compare, but I am very excited for this game.
The trailer still feels far more Halo than Gears to me, but they aren't that dissimilar of games outside of art-style and camera placement. I await gameplay! But I still say the art style for this game just feels like a grittier Halo.
The helmet seems very similar to me, even if they don't match up exactly. I'm a sucker for sci-fi super-armors though.

I didn't pick up anything in the Halo series, so the last "guy in space FPS" game I picked up was... I don't think I remember one.
Are they really that overused in the games people actually buy?

Although it is the best cliché ever.

Honestly though, being third person shooter has got me kinda interested.
No multiplayer though, but whatever. Looks interesting.
Also,
Doesn't exactly make for great conversation.
The boost system sounds cool though. Sounds like the game would be more actiony. Shinji mikami + action = awesome.
The graphics look pretty damn good too. Apparently they're using the PS3 as the lead platform this time.

"we got approximately 8 hours to stop that from happening.
We WILL stop that from happening. "
Oh god, already loving the cheesy dialogue.
edit: gives me a bayonetta vibe.
Liking how it looks so far!
That looks fucking amazing holy shit
This just jumped up to the top of my most anticipated list
Looking forward to this now.
Sign me up.
On the other, I said the exact same thing about Too Human.
Count me in as "cautiously optimistic"

YAY, Rocket boots!
The gameplay reminded me a lot of it, just a bit faster.
At least the hit animation and movement doesn't look as stilted.
C'mon, it's shinji and Platinum. They've proven themselves more than capable of making great action games.
This has rocket boots.
...Take off your clothes.
Well, I'm impressed. Still looks like Halo through Square-Enix lenses but definitely doesn't look boring.
The hell?

Just a heads up: it's very all up ins.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Three pages late up ins
I am the up insest.
I understand that looks vaguely like 'up incest.' It is not. To be clear.

FIRST GAMEPLAY TRAILER.
I love the art style.
Trailer looks more like Japanese Gears.
Read the thread title.

What gives you that idea? At the end of the trailer it has both the PS3 logo and the 360 logo.
