Hay, if that brings piece of mind. The misspelling of canon just greats on me I suppose. As long as the meaning's plane as day, I consider this matter lade to wrest. Don't let this phase you.

You know, I've been using the word 'homonym' incorrectly for these for a while. The word is actually 'homophone', and I feel like a fool. A homophone is something like bow and bough; a homonym is like read (I do read) and read (I have read).

It is sad that this morning I actually woke up excited and thinking it was Monday.
I got an email this morning from Amazon saying that the Release Day Shipping was knocked down to 99 cents. If anyone has already preordered from there then you get the new price.
I gotta say I am too excited about this showing up on my desk on Tuesday. My wife is on a mad dash to finish Lego Harry Potter this weekend because she knows the xbox is exclusively for Halo pretty soon.
I've never understood why Normal difficulty is so easy, when Legendary is so hard. They should just throw out Easy, rename Normal to Easy, rename Heroic to Normal, and come up with a new Heroic.
I mean, they even suggest that people who've played other shooters or Halo games should start on Heroic. That sounds like Normal to me. There's nothing heroic about it.

Now a days "Normal" is more for people who have the hand eye coordination to play video games, but may have never played a FPS, for example, on the console before. Easy is for the people who have to stop moving to look around.
I expect only a few of us will have the patience for the solo legendary achievement.
I am certainly going to try. Sounds to me like it's just not something you try to do for prolonged periods of time. Do a couple of checkpoints, play some FF/MP, eat a sandwich, do some more checkpoints.
One level at a time. Checkpoint by checkpoint. Hopefully it's not Halo 2 all over again.
This. I plan on running through the campaign on Normal just to experience the story first. Then I'll slowly work on Legendary.

I wonder how early I'll have to be at my local Gamestop to make sure I'm not waiting until forever to pickup at the midnight release.

well i think of these two options:
either show up 45 minutes before midnight, or at midnight
either way the wait will be similar, just one is a much longer line
but that's just my gamestop, ODST had about 40-50 people so it was over quickly. at most i expect double that, but only because this is so much bigger than ODST

Go 45 min AFTER midnight
Have been doing this for local midnight releases, basically no line.

Yes I work for Netflix. No, I can't give you any free movies dammit.
Supposedly Halo Reach Legendary solo still isn't as bad as Halo 2. I suffered through Halo 2 solo and co-op, so I'm confident I can handle Reach. That achievement will be mine!

Going through Heroic first to get a feel for the new gameplay additions (and so I can finish the campaign on Day 1 so some dumbass doesn't spoil it for me), followed by some screwing about in Forge until more Bees appear for matchmaking. I'll hold off on getting "A Monument To All Your Sins" until later on, such as the weekend or so.

Speaking of which, how does Reach handle coop legendary, like respawning and stuff?

Halo lore nerd here, occasional (terrible) Halo 3 MM player, and someone who has been eagerly following Reach's development and release (and these wonderful threads!). I have been drawn out of lurking to post and add my enthusiasm to that which the rest of you have already displayed.
I have remained unspoiled of campaign events up to now, and am interested to see how it turns out. Usually, I spoil myself as soon as spoilers are available for the spoiling. I have decided, with Reach being the last game in the Bungie line of Halos, that it was worth remaining in the dark.
Anyway, hooray Reach! Maybe I can get in a few MM games with you folks on the other side of Monday!

That's a pretty good article. I actually never noticed you couldn't turn off the music or anything in the halo games, at least during campaign.
It does bug me that the author makes the bold claim that "Even in the decade since the first Halo, no game or franchise has a score that's as memorable", which is pretty absurd, and would only hold true if you barely played anything other than FPS or sports games.
I will say though that I enjoy Halo music, ODST in particular, as much as I enjoy any final fantasy or blizzard game soundtrack. But to say that nothing has is as memorable is just silliness.

I don't think that spoiler is really a spoiler.
It's just dumb people. Being dumb.
Spoiler from another Halo Game:
I'd ask how, but I'm not going to bother until Tuesday.
I see what you did there! Clever girl.

Wow.
I'm slowly becoming less and less able to wait until Tuesday afternoon.
Very freaking hard but there were usually things laying around the sandbox that I found that would eventually help me.
