That works? He doesn't evade-bug to the back if you catch him up front?
If I remember right - and it's been a long time - if you come in through the front door of Strat, you actually fight him just in front of the back door; it's only when you come in the back door he rockets off to outside the Slaughterhouse.
To that end, obviously, he kinda has to be pullable and attackable in that first encounter.
Yeah, going in the front door and taking the long way around is the only way to get the key if nobody in your group has a key. But I'd always figured his running off when you opened the service entrance gate was subject to evade mechanics.
Way back in vanilla wow I was in a 5 man that went around and caught him. I did not know you could do that at the time
A few weeks ago when I was on my hunter and wanted to see if I could solo Strat I lacked the key went around and got him with ease
I am annoyed that put what que'ing for a heroic and normal gets you in beta but not in the game itself
So looking over all of the Blizzcon information on several websites I was rather disappointed in the amount of new stuff they presented at Blizzcon this year.
Am I the only one? Just seems like they presenting nothing really new other than the new Amazon class for Diablo (Demon Hunter), which we all knew would be put in anyway.
The fact they highlighted Starcraft custom maps was pretty lame if you ask me. Your thoughts?
Anyone had troubles creating a guild rank for authenticated members only? I can't be added to the one in our guild, and I very much have an authenticator.
Only thing I can think of is that I have a keychain authenticator that I removed from my account and switched to the iPhone authenticator, but so did another guildie, and the guild rank works for him.
You have to have had the authenticator for 48 hours I think is the problem.
Before 4.0.1, they didn't track how long you had the authenticator for, so noone could be added to such a rank initially (and if you have just returned to the game, the timer doesn't start until you login for the first time since 4.0.1).
I guess when you switch authenticators, it resets the timer too, but I'm not sure why it works for him but not you.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
re subscribed after a year and a half of being gone... I think I will start leveling some of the other characters I have [70 hunter, 38 warlock, 36 priest, 36 rogue].
With all of the recent changes, is there a good way to level the 3 30s level characters? I seem to be in stranglethorn right now. I logged in and noticed all of my talents were reset, I had been holy, affliction, and combat -- those still ok? I don't think I want the priest to go shadow.
How long should I expect it to take me to get to 58? I can probably play for about an hour a day, sometimes two, sometimes zero. I always enjoyed making it outland for the sudden drastic increase in gear / power.
I resubbed about a month ago. dusted off one of my old level 20 characters and got him up to level 28 in a couple hours of running dungeons. For those level 3+ guys, I'd try to find a good group for scarlet monastery and run it until the mobs are grey. Or the game won't let you queue for it.
I've done something terrible. I've convinced a friend to give WoW a shot. He subbed Friday night or Saturday morning. As of Sunday night, he's level 22ish, and he's put in over 24 hours. Quite frankly, that's what the jerk gets for ignoring my request that he inform me if he wants to join so I could do the recruit a friend!
He's played tons of F2P MMO's, and he's tried the trial on WoW once or twice. I guess all my talk of it convinced him to give it another chance. Showing off all my mounts and pets, and describing many of the quests probably helped hook him as well. Plus, I'm enjoying the opportunity to show off the pre-Cata world to someone, and experiencing it one more time before the expansion. I'm just hoping I can get him high enough to show off most of Azeroth... Need to hit Silithus, Un'Goro, the Plaguelands... Desolace long enough for him to decide to hate it.
So much to do. Any suggestions, btw? I'm not going to be able to show him everything, but I'd like to at least get everything important.

The first thing you should do is join a church and beg god(s) for mercy.
...why are the gryphons when dead so fucking slow now? Who thought that was a good idea?
Because Blizzard hates you. Its not business, its personal, they did it to all of us just to get to you. You might want to return their dog. And its hair.
Besides, walking speed is nice when you're dead. Don't want to stress the soul after a massive trauma.

It's so that the guild talent to increase movement speed while dead doesn't actually make you faster it just makes you as fast as you always were up to 4.0.

Currently clearing out all the Wotlk mats and other crap from my bank(s), it's oddly bittersweet.
Yes it is, surprisingly so. You briefly recreate that new expansion wonder and excitement before questing and crafting repetition made it seem so ordinary. Hard to believe that in 18 months we'll be thinking the same about all the new stuff we are about to find in CATACLYSM.

Welp, I've been putting off my server transfers long enough, but a couple of toons need to leave Bronzebeard to free up room for my soon-to-appear Worgen and Goblin. I figure there will be a flood of transfers in late November and I want to beat the rush.

He'll level fast powering through instances. Make sure he's queueing as much as possible. Or have him use Jame's Levelling Guide.
From what I've read on the Rogue forums, feral Prowl is mathematically half again as good as Stealth, and vanish isn't even causing the rogue's attacker to drop target, and other such tomfoolery.
Also combat dps is like half the other two specs supposedly, but I don't care about that because I have no interest in combat.
On the other hand, it sounds like low-level subtlety rogues are one-shotting people with ambush.
Basically the whole game sounds like a clusterfuck right now.
Oh I know that. I'm just saying, if Cataclysm were released today I probably wouldn't want to play it.
Also because the beta is still pretty broke-as-fuck, as the cool kids say.

What? Vanish protects the rogue from being attacked for 3 seconds. It doesn't drop the target, no, but given that if you get back out of stealth vision range, the target is dropped. It's more crazy that there is a three second buffer window for the rogue to act in while taking damage form every source known to mankind and still be in stealth.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
But I guess that's the bug! Rogues are apparently still being targeted even in stealth 30 yards away or whatever? I don't know, I'm not currently playing.
I'm just saying, I'm really amped about playing a worgen rogue, but it sounds like the game is a mess right now.

They did. Spells scale smoothly with level now. However I bet they get a good-size bump at 58, to deal with Outland's higher HP mobs.
Single target in instances jumped by almost double when I went from 56 to 58.

I did that right after the patch and made a pretty good sum of money.

Just like the old days, pretty much.
Yup that seems like it'd be it. You could always open a ticket.

Except it sounds like the most recent patch is complete garbage and stealth and vanish are broken.
"sad, lonely and neglected", yes
I think this statement has been true ever since WoW was released.
