Am i the only one that saw the cover of GI and thought he accidentally got a Time magazine with a story about abused women on the cover?
I think the game sounds pretty good but damn between the cover and the pictures inside....well it just has the appearance and feel of some horror movie with some sexploitation thrown in.
Someones (probably one of these stick up their ass groups like PETA) going to grab on this as more 'video games are violent and sexist' crap.
If infinite was set in rapture and not made by the team behind Bioshock 1 I'd agree that it might be awful. The trailer made it clear though that it doesn't want anything to do with Bioshock 1 or 2.
This looks promising. I like the Laura model I don't like that she's portrayed as emotionally weak. That's not really the character. I'll forgive it since it's an origin story though

Its a complete reboot of the series, so the strong emotional Lara you're referring to never even existed.

Emotionless. Well not that severe. She was detached from the situation professional. And the core of the character shouldn't be rebooted. We saw how well that went with Dante.

Lara Croft's only been in, oh... nine Tomb Raider games. But hey, I guess that's just not enough to get her spelling right.
Again I ask why does it matter? Unless you just want to pick a fight for some reason. Either way I'm done here.
I just found it kinda amazing. I mean, this isn't the name of some obscure video game NPC or something. Lara Croft is one of gaming's biggest icons. It's kinda hard to miss. That's like getting Duke Nukem or Gordon Freeman wrong. Not to mention we've been discussing Lara and mentioning her name for pages and pages in this very thread.
Damn. I'm not gonna lie, this has just become my most wanted for 2011. And thats a scary thought considering Batman AC is out next year too
Awuhhhh? I wouldn't go that far.
Deus Ex - They messed up IW really bad for me to get super excited bout this.
Dead Space 2 - Sequel in which the main guy now talks. "TAKE IT BITCHES!"
Uncharted 3 (maybe?) - PS3? Fuck that
The Last Guardian - PS3 only, Blegh
Arkham City - Hell yes its exciting, but its a sequel. TR is a reboot so that has me more interested
BioShock Infinite (maybe?) - They can't live up to the story of 1
inFamous 2 - PS3, don't have one
And then, maybe,
Tomb Raider
The fact that all these games are coming out and I still want TR more speaks volumes about how much I want this game right fucking now
Except Deus Ex and Dead Space which I couldn't give a shit less about
Fixed post to show what I think of those. So yeah, Tomb Raider is still my most wanted. (Also, she's English!)
What I gathered from this post is "Big Isy needs a PS3"
Also, uh yeah, spelling does kind of matter, it's not a "personal preference" thing. If your name is Bob, I'm not gonna spell it "Bobb" and say that it's my personal preference. Also Laura and Lara don't even have the same pronunciation, so, yeah.

Personal preference suggests there's some leeway with the spelling of the name--for example, romanization when there are two ways to spell the name. There isn't--her name's on a bunch of the games, and it's always spelled the same way, what with it being English.
TR is going to get rebooted into oblivion. Really, there is no need for it. The second incarnation was perfectly fine.
The first incarnation was perfectly fine too
But Underworld was a bit of a sales disappointment, and I'm glad they're smart about shaking things up earlier this time (after three iterations with the current Lara, as opposed to five with the original one)
Oh shit, it's going to have new voiceovers and cutscenes? I was a little sad when it looked like they were just straight reskins, but essentially a new story is kinda neat. Might even get the Kain and Lynch one just for sheer hilarity.
Also, the third challenge level pack is up on Xbox live for $5, but not the second. Strange.
And as I said in the Deals thread - having never played a Kane and Lynch game - I found the DLC pack to be astoundingly good and fun. I figured it would be re-skins, but the new intro to the game made me laugh out loud.
And since I have no idea, but believe someone who said the dialogue is just cut and edited from previous Kane and Lynch voicework (which is a pretty brilliant idea), the dialouge was HILARIOUS and awesome.
I was really, really impressed with the quality. And since there's a new intro, Im ASSUMING they went all out and made a new ending, and I am going to play through the whole thing again to see it.

PSN: mxmarks - WiiU: mxmarks - twitter: @ MikesPS4 - twitch.tv/mxmarks - "Yes, mxmarks is the King of Queens" - Unbreakable Vow
Jesus this is a briliant idea. I went from hoping the new characters would have different mechanics and thus different approaches to the puzzles, to being disappointed they were just reskins, to being excited to play through the game in a completely ridiculous manor.

I read somewhere that to make up for the late release of online co-op, each platform got one of the challenge packs for free. Steam has pack number 2 for free, but none of the others are available.

Like, seriously. It looked fantastic, it controlled like a dream, great use of sound.
I really can't explain why I found it so terribly boring and utterly soulless.

Who's Laura?
That's how I spell the name. Does it matter?
Alternately I mean the cgi model on the GI cover

I agree with Ripter. He should be able to spell the protagonist of Toom Rider any way he pleases.
And yes, I do need a PS3, or any console for that matter

I am no longer disappointed in Guardian of Light. It is fantastic all of a sudden.
But I doubt that will really feel like Legacy of Kain
Oh I know. But its hope.

Kind of interested since all I had was Anniversary.
Unless that trailer is being super misleading.
EDIT: Goddammit, release that shit multi-platform :P
Well, it would seem one of them is free for Gold members, I'll have to take a look when my 360 is hooked back up.
I was referring to the HD trilogy pack.
Hopefully it's at the same price range as the other HD collections.
You're the third person I've seen make that mistake
Guess i should read wikipedia pages more carefully. :P
Never played underworld before. How was it?
But Legend rules and is the best TR game and I will grab the package just to get Trophies on that (already got my 1000 on 360)
