This is my first PAX and due to a few errors i was only able to get a Friday Pass. Other than going to the Have/Need tickets thread. Would i be able to buy a ticket right at PAX or do i need to have a pass ready before i go?

Saturday is already sold out, so if you want to go on a day other than Friday you will need to visit the Need/Have thread. (Sunday is still available at the moment, I believe)

If history is any indication, all three days will sell out prior to PAX and there WILL NOT be tickets available at the door.

    Done. Thanks for the help.

Edit: I just noticed that when i tried to post in the topic the post didn't show up what exactly should i do about this? Already tried it 3 times and it hasn't shown up.

Edit 2: I also wanted to know. Do most people who post in the Have/Need thread get tickets?

So my daughter, upon seeing the new shiny badges for me and my wife, asked if she could go. Granted she's only 9 years old and I wasn't sure if kids were even able to go and if so, did they even need a ticket. I haven't seen anything about this. So if any has any info on this, it's be helpful on helping me decide. That and If they have to pay, I'd need to find another 3 day pass to take her as well ;(

    Thanks in advance.'

*Oops, I found it... so i'm off to find another 3 day pass*

Does PAX ever come to California to do any of their shows? Just heard about the Expo from a friend and said there was one in Seattle and Boston but are those the only locations they will be having Expos?

I know of a ton of people near San Francisco that would looove for the Expo to come here and people from all of Cali would flock there for certain.

PAX isn't a traveling convention. PAX is an expanding convention. In its expansion it seeks to reach audiences that could otherwise not make it.

PAX started in Seattle and expanded to Boston because there were many people on the East Coast who would otherwise never be able to experience PAX. Based on the survey Khoo posted a couple weeks ago, the next projected expansion is likely to be the UK.

It is highly unlikely and unnecessary for them to run a second convention on the West Coast.

I drove from Ohio to Seattle 5 times for PAX while in college.

Nothing is impossible with college, and work, well you're a college student. Sometimes college students need a week off.

10th-14th? I'd be inclined to bring along at least $100-$150 with me. You might be able to get away with less depending on what places you go and whether or not there's a microwave in your hotel. Boston isn't much more expensive than any other city food-wise.

If you hit up a grocery store and prepare your own stuff, make sandwiches for lunch and that sort of thing, you can keep it pretty frugal. If you eat out for everything, it just depends on where you go. Food court meals are generally ~$5-6, nicer lunch spots $6-8, and regular restaurants can be from $10-12 to as high as you can imagine.

I think it varies on what activities you're going to partake in. If you're going on the Pokecrawl or one of the other meetups, drinks/buffets/etc can add a significant amount to your food budget. If you're going to eat $3-4 Dunkin Donuts/Subway/cafe type stuff for most meals, you should be fine on $15-25 a day.

There's also a supermarket not far from the BCEC, if you're staying close. If you have a fridge/microwave as mentioned above, you can do a lot of shopping and spend a very small amount for food that way.

Whatever you do, try to keep it as balanced as possible, it will help tremendously and your body will thank you for it.

I was a big fan of Au Bon Pain last year across from the Hynes. I ate nearly every meal there because of the wide variety of balanced choices. There's one close to the BCEC this year, but I think it's only open M-F.

All of them have Shuttle Service by the way except the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, Seaport, and Westin Boston Waterfront. I assume that is because the first 2 are right across the street while the latter is connected.

On the Hotel Reservation page it has a list (when viewed by all hotels, not just ones available) it shows which one offers shuttle service.

Is it too late to get a medical badge? And if not, how would I go about getting one?

I have a disability, but I was worried it wasn't bad enough to make a medical badge necessary. After having to leave a concert early this weekend because I couldn't stand that long, I've changed my mind and I'm hoping it's not too late to get one. I searched the pax website and found nothing, and the search function here is broken, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction...

You need to email pax_media@paxsite.com. I would recommend that and, if still no response, tweet to @Official_Pax and @rkhoo about it on Twitter. The forum is probably not your best bet on registration/badge issues if you need a response ASAP.

It's also important to know that, in general, the PAX Community forums are not a direct link to customer service for PAX. Us friendly (or not so friendly) folk will try to give general help and answer questions, but we do not actually work for Penny Arcade. Only mentioning this because you said "waiting on you guys to give us a response." Some PA folk do read this forum, but generally that's not the collective "you" that is being addressed when someone makes a post :)

Quick question, and I do apologize if this has already been posted, but why do the tickets this year look almost identical to last year? It seems really easy to just pass an old ticket to a friend who couldn't get one, and with 24000 expected to attend, I highly doubt security will be stopping each person to see if it's a stripe or cubes.

Sorry, I didn't see this until tonight. It's a Stop and Shop on East Broadway. It's maybe 7-8 blocks Southeast of the BCEC? Within walking distance or a short cab ride, but not right next door.
