Yep, this is a thread about this movie.
Which has a ridiculous amount of star power behind it.
You've got Daniel Craig...
Harrison Ford...
And Olivia Wilde...
All looking rugged and shit, while fighting aliens at the direction of the guy who made both Iron Man movies...
Which apparently creates a formula for an unexpected flop. Or maybe a fun blow-em-up popcorn movie?
Who knows, I haven't seen it yet. Let me know how it goes.

it was awful and had horrible pacing and don't go see this movie
if Keith and I can agree that a movie looks dumb
you've got yourself a problem
I went to the midnight showing and it was everything I was hoping it would be
"everything I was hoping it would be" consists of:
1) Daniel Craig wearing pretty pretty cowboy outfits
2) Aliens being shot
3) Harrison Ford being all cantankerous and shit
4) There is no 4th requirement here
normally I agree
but as far as I can tell he's right about Locke and Key, and he's right about this
Yeah I don't think you two have very divergent opinions.
Maybe if like lostwords and TLB thought something looked dumb.
What spring does with the cherry trees.
4 is olivia wilde and also lazers
I actually don't like Olivia Wilde all that much.
What spring does with the cherry trees.
i like rock and action
he hates giant robots, i dig giant robots
we do not often agree
Yes okay those are good things too, they can be on the list. Especially the lazers
I dunno about the reviews: the movie came off a lot more as a kinda tongue-in-cheek kinda film than anything really serious
It's called Cowboys and Aliens.
so is craig and ford
so
mhm. I dunno if I'll see this in theaters, Lady SH says we have to go see the Hairy Potters
Exactly, the reviews I've seen of it made it sound like it's supposed to be serious
And if the criticism boils down to "The plot/character development were horribly shallow," I might scream.
The movie has Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford playing cowboys and fighting aliens.
There is your plot and/or character development.
Satans..... hints.....
It is called.
Cowboys.
And.
Aliens.
It is two kids in the backyard with sticks and rocks making the stupidest fantasies come to life.
it is
it's taking a ridiculous topic and trying to do something serious with it
It is a less ridiculous premise than Avatar.
So there's that.
best review I 100% agree with.
It was alright. I didn't take it seriously, so it wasn't that insulting.
Plus, I got to see Daniel Craig blow up aliens and Harrison Ford act racist around Indians. So there's just no way I could hate this movie. Even a little bit.

If your expectations for this movie deviate too far from that list, you will probably not like it. But if you want to see a super-fun summer popcorn movie, you have just hit the jackpot
SPEAKING OF WHICH
the kid, the one that rides with them and is a semi-major character, the sheriff's grandson?
that was Aang in the Avatar movie
edit: she does get pretty wet though, swimming around in her clothes
