Super Edit: Jonis Thanks! That's my favorite one I think. Stale yeah after looking at it more I definitely like the second one better ege Thanks, I like the colors of the one further back but I do like the angle of the other pipe one better too.
Hey jamp is that a cave as well or a sinkhole or what? Whatever it is the greens are awesome looking.
Dammit Edit: I'm actually interested to see what it would look like w/out the crop gaf.
The lighting in both of those leaves a lot to be desired, especially the second. Not flattering at all. Get a diffuser, or use light sources from interesting angles.

Yeah. For shooting indoors, the best natural lighting you can get will be near a window, especially if it has curtains. Or, if you have the money, invest in a softbox and some reflectors.
I would definitely avoid artificial ceiling lighting.
bryse eayo: i really like the last one. good composition and colors.
I'm not a photographer or anything, but I just bought a new camera to take to Iraq with me and I took this, it's a belt buckle hanging on my wall locker:
Man what's with the huge arguments. Lets stick to pictures shall we? After all a picture is worth countless forum drama. (new concept: PICTURE BATTLE!).
Here are 2 I took the other day. I'm really bored and for some reason can't find interesting things to shoot

Maximas: I'm happy to see you got a new camera. What kind? I like your captain america pin but a nicer backdrop than a faux wood grain Oh and you're on an army base right? I WANT GUNS.
Bryse: I like the earring one, is it a little underexposed? The paint peeling is great.

The first one looks emo and I can't tell what you're trying to photograph with the second (it's a stick, so what?). I dunno, maybe it's the post-processing that rubs me the wrong way.
This was experimentation photos with shadows for a Leo Laport Flckr photography, I just got the camera and reading the manual. Anyone know small pocket size reference book?

Ugh, I want to travel out and take some pictures, but no car is depressing. Hopefully when it's all fixed I'll have some big influx of new shots, hopefully better. In the meantime I feel kind of stagnant with photography. Anyone else ever get that?
Yep. I've been sick on and off for the last month. Haven't worked up the energy to get out and shoot yet, but that'll hopefully change today. I've been meaning to experiment with artificial light and studio still life-type stuff while I've been sick but that didn't happen.
edit: you don't really need a car to find something to shoot though. Just get outside and make the best of it.

Long distance runner, what you standin' there for?
Yeah, he loves to have photos taken, and then check them out on the computer, but most of the time he pulls a "Transformer" face (just a random scary face).

Excellent.
I do like the placement of the girl in all white.

This is a nearly identical version of the image above:
It just looks overly dramatically posed.
