i have no idea why they gave the alliance goal actual incentive one weekend and then removed it subsequently

I think that the award for the community goal and squad goal should have been switched from the beginning. That would have actually encouraged the community to strive toward the goal. Or whine more. Or both. idk.

Lack of weapons/gear I can deal with, I just want the DLC character cards. I mean, my commons and uncommons are maxed, but I've only got like, 7 out of the 24 Rares, and none of them are beyond that first card.

    it was originally

you'd get N7 guns from the community goal

then they realized that was dumb

since you could get screwed out of a gun if other people were fucktards

    and remember

    it's the internet

With the DLC guns outclassing pretty much all of the N7 guns, I would much rather get a guaranteed character card or Ultra Rare from my commendation pack. I know they would never do that since they promote the operations as a way to get something you couldn't otherwise, but it would be nice. Then again, the Earth character I got from the last Op was an appearance option for my Fury, which was 1 of 2 of the Earth DLC characters I had.

Unlocked the N7 Infiltrator and played as her all yesterday. Maybe it's just me, but I really like the animation for the shadow strike. The biotic charge animations always disoriented me a little, and the sound before the shadow strike goes off makes me feel like a badass.

Also, when will we know what the penalty is for failing the operation? I'm thinking more mooks during extraction.

I like when you use Shadow Strike, and the camera moves to behind the enemy but you can already see your character standing behind the enemy for a brief second before going invisible again and executing the attack.

Just tried out the N7 Soldier; man, it's totally weird giving no fucks about cooldown. And I keep forgetting that my Pirahna is a fast semi-auto, and probably preferable to the Vindicator I'm also carrying.

    Any tips for stat points?

You guys may have seen this but I discovered a new bug. The Escort drone bugged out 10% into completion and we were basically stuck in a no-win survival scenario against Geth on Firebase Vancouver.

It was actually pretty fun. It would have been way more fun if I hadn't been rocking a newly promoted Turian Soldier on Silver (doable) and testing out my new Revenant I. Turns out, I would have been better off tickling the enemy.

Kinds disappointing that this very rare opportunity to die atop a pile of corpses was the one match tonight where I didn't have the kit to do it. We did alright, but it's a bug I wouldn't mind seeing again while maxed out and playing with mates.

Ignore missiles, max everything else. Grenade radius is pretty big to begin with, so just go damage on them. I went pure weapon damage for the class passive and pure defense for fitness. Increased stability and ROF on Devastator Mode, slap in a Piranha, nuke all spawns with grenades and clean up the mess with your shotty.

I've been contemplating ditching the 40% shield evolution on my destroyer for the damage

since even with (estimated) 2.2k shields, you get cut down pretty quick under sustained fire

may as well blow shit up faster

    also

    striker w/extended mag + stability

I'm using a Wraith shotgun on my Vorcha Sentinel. I can't remeber specifics on my power upgrades, but I do know that I went with health regen for bloodlust. Its crazy rediculous how fast I get all my health back. I think I went with Damage over duration on the Flamer. All I know is I no longer fear Brutes, Atlas's or Phantoms.

Vorcha has the best dodge animations too. Also dialogue.

    Sees Atlas: "Big Machine!"

    Sees Geth Rocket guys: "BOOM!"

Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

the missiles aren't bad, in fact they can be quite good

the problem is the 50% shield reduction on a class whose entire feature is...getting shot in the face

no dodge + slowed movement + -50% shields?

    no fucking thank you

Yeah. Yesterday I was playing with a pub Asari Vanguard who was quite good!

Until he put on the Destroyer on Hydra and proceeded to get knocked down all the goddamned time.

The reduced mobility and lack of active powers mean if you want to use missiles, you're going to have to be careful about your moves and stick to cover.

I think I'm almost done with ME3 multiplayer unless they change the RNG.

I'm tired of buying endless PSP's and not getting new characters. Out of the last 12 packs I've bought all I've got is the MQE. I've still got 9 to unlock and I desperately want 7 of them.

Fuck it actually, I'd pay 1.5x the PSP price to get a guaranteed new character pack.

Bought 2 PSP's this weekend, got a Krysae II, a Graal II, a Revenant V and Paladin I. Weapons in all the Rare slots? Fuck that. I WANT A FUCKING BATSOLDIER, BATSENTINEL, GETHGINEER, SMASHGUARD, FURY, VORCHA SENTINEL AND ESPECIALLY A DEMOLISHER FIRST. Knowing my luck it'll give me a MQI or the Shadow. =[

Should definitely give priority to unlocking new stuff at Level I first before giving upgrades in PSP's.

EDIT: I forgot, I bought a regular SP too and what was in the rare slot? A fucking Geth Plasma Shotgun I! Another bloody weapon.

Before the Earth DLC came out, some were apparently going to try temporarily un-installing the previous packs to up their chances of receiving Earth content. iirc this method was somewhat successful for them. If you want batarians and geth, for example, maybe consider uninstalling Rebellion and Earth before going on a PSP spree?
(I have not tried this tactic myself.)

Started a renegade play through of ME3 last night, as an Adept. I really like Adept, especially with the ME3 weapon system where I can equip a light AR. I hated the fact that in ME2 if I went non-soldier, I had to wait until half way through the game to use a better weapon. Going with a light AR/light machine pistol/light pistol build with 90% power recharge. So far it's working really well.

There is only Reegar. A weapon you can fire WHILE you're roasting your enemies? Double Crispy! Short bursts with the Flamer + Reegar = disgustingly high DPS. Any of the other good shotguns will also work, but seriously, double rainbow flamethrowers all the way!

For the Vorcha, I put 6 into bloodlust (all health buffs)
4 into Flamer (I go with dmg, but range is also useful)
6 into Cluster Grenades (dmg, max+, dmg)
5 into Vorcha Resilience (power buffs)
6 into Fitness (take all health buffs, but skip shield recharge for extra melee. You're going to spend most of the round with your shields gone, might as well learn to accept it ;-))

Then run with some sort of extra grenade perk, toss grenades into clusters of enemies and go nuts with your double flamethrowers. Make sure to pick up a few easier kills at the start of each encounter/round to get your health regen pumping.

You'll be able to break ALL the fans.

so my new favourite thing is killing people with powers in order to set off simultaneous fire and biotic explosions

Since the penalties are usually tied with thing failed, it'll probably mean more boss monsters spawning during wave ten or a decreased/increased time (where appropriate) for the wave 10 objective round.

    or both.

The first time, they increased the timer right? Maybe this time it would be like, more weak enemies, but the same number of heavies.

I've only played either Vorcha one or two times. Was curious about the Reegar/Flamer combo. When both are firing simultaneously should you be able to see both the red and blue flame? Or is it just the red flame at that point?

Tried the Reegar out with my Vorcha Sentinel initially. It was also my first time using the Reegar. That is a pretty awesome gun, but you gotta be right in your enemies' faces, and it goes through ammo too fast for my liking.

The part about having to be right up in your enemy's face isnt a biggie though, since the Vorcha Sentinel don't give a fuck. :D

I think the punishment should come in the form of a twitter update/BSN forum post showing us how far we were from ever making the objective.

Seriously, though, I thought the update on progress was a nice addition on BW's part. I imagine, though, that seeing we were so far from making it made a lot fewer people play on Sunday than normally would have. It had that effect on me, certainly. That's the trick with objectives: if they're unattainable or unrealistic, they're a poor motivator.

aye, thats why probably one of the best ways to deal with gold reapers is to move around the map letting the banshees and brutes scramble after you while you kill off the marauders and ravagers until the wave budget is done

in many ways i think the main threat banshees have is that they are massive bullet sponges that draw a lot of attention that would probably be better directed elsewhere

Who cares about victory goals, anyway? They've been worth it, like, three times. Once for an N7 weapon, once for an ultra-rare, and once for an Earth character (not worth it if you already had them all). They should have offered N7 weapons in them all the time. It's not like anyone is bothering to look for a Crusader V when they can get an all-around better Piranha X first.

If they wanted to make victory packs amazing they could have them include a card that would give +1 level to any weapon you apply it to, regardless of rarity.

The six medigels per round goal was also somewhat worth it. Unfortunately, the actual objective wasn't really attainable in a weekend.

Deadfall's tips on Vorcha Sentinels and N7 Destroyer Missiles:

Vorcha: Spec 6 into Flamer, going into damage and armor damage
6 in Bloodlust, taking all of the health bonuses and power bonuses.
    6 into Grenades
    SKIP Vorcha class upgrades
6 into Fitness, speccing melee bonuses.
    Equip Reegar.
Use Reegar for shields/barriers, melee everything else. Stack three bloodlusts and use Flamer to absolutely melt armored enemies. I can solo banshees and brutes with this combo in a matter of seconds.
This is a tricky class to play as you are extremely fragile, so you have to be quick.

    N7 Destroyer Missiles:
They are, in my opninion (I use this on gold), only good if specced into shield reduction....er, reduction, rapid firing and Hydra missile upgrades.
I use them exclusively for crowd control. They fire for me like every 2.5 seconds and fire three missiles, making everything in front of me either stagger or roll away, allowing me to rev up the Typhoon.
This also only works if you spec Devastator mode and Fitness purely into shields and health and damage reduction.
