I am also willing to run systems that I have played before but not ran before.
Legend of the Five Rings is rather appropriate, seeing how it is set in a fantastic feudal japan (has ninjas and magic and oni and stuffs).
Or mouseguard in which you play adorable mice.
I am generally in favour of systems where you don't have a sheet with a million numbers on it, I guess, which is why most "big" games like DH and D&D don't sit well with me. Hence why I am generally pro-indie, and my favourite system is Apocalypse World.
Though I have been reading that Evangelion hack of DH with a curious joy.
Also - I am well aware of Mouseguard, and I love it.
You would probably like Call of Cthulhu then, the game is very mechanically light, it is much more about the story and the decision making than anything else.
It might also be an easier sell to go to that from C.Tech.
Also maaaan I was going to use this 3 hours of no classes to prep for my elementary school but apparently that got canceled tomorrow so now I have no idea what to dooooo.

I once tried to DM a session of CoC with very minimal pnp rpg playing or dming experience.
It didn't go well.
But let me tell you, that game can be a ton of fun.
I will get one on Friday and then see Mike Birbiglia's movie and then I will wake up and go to Las Vegas.
Then I will meet a beautiful girl and take her to my five star suite and I will fly away on a dragon and then...
...okay I think maybe Im getting ahead of myself.
I will get a haircut on Friday.
I wanna go back to Vegas, but only for 48 hours of boozin
my friend can get a Bellagio room she says
Seriously if youre not "super" picky, Vegas can be done on the cheap. We're going for 72 hours of boozing/relaxing.
We got a room at the Vdara. A SUITE at the Vdara. Five-star, new hotel. Not a casino and right off the strip, but right in the middle.
$100 a night each. That is crazy.
I've never been so I'm pretty stoked.
OH BY THE WAY THIS GIRL IS GOING TO VEGAS THIS WEEKEND TOO UGHHHHHHHH

Apparently I am getting internet installed in my apartment next Saturday, which is fortunate, since it means I won't have to take one of my paid leave days to deal with it.
Unfortunately, that Saturday is my main JHS's school festival, which I have been asked to attend (read: it is expected)!
I would say it is a difficult problem, but I value the internet more than my job, so I won't be rescheduling.
I am also willing to run systems that I have played before but not ran before.

mystery games like CoC are the absolute worst to try and wing it. With something like D&D, if you need to stall for time, orcs attack! But it's really hard to improvise clues and red herrings and so forth.

Did the frugal thing and got one nice tallboy (Sixpoint Righteous Rye) and two PRB tallboys.
And since I didn't eat that much today and have cut down on my drinking in general, I'll probably get drunk!
what I would do in your shoes, if I were there, because I'm mean, is paint my toenails fuck you purple and look as hot as possible at all times while completely rebuffing her at every turn and flirting mercilessly with every pretty lady in sight

In her absence I became friends with the girl that works next to her in the office. She is cool and not crazy and honestly I dont even think Im romantically interested but I know it drives her up the wall.

Especially considering the fact that the only rpg I had even SEEN up until this point was 4E. I spent all this time building a cool world and story (that Im still really fond of) and my players, nice as they are, tried to deviate from my plan for them even a little and I just had nothing for them.
They were really cool about it, thanked me for trying, and the next week someone started DMing Dresden. I have a good group.

I definitely agree. Honestly I'd say unless you are an INCREDIBLY strong DM you should run purchased pre-made adventures for CoC, and mostly work on tweaking those adventures for your party (don't be scared to go off the rails either) and linking these separate adventures into a cohesive narrative.

"Hey, XXXXX, Hope you had a good summer.
We don't need anything right now.
We'll see you soon."
She would text tons of gurlfriends about it.
